PDK Clutch Calibration - 2015 Porsche Macan S

I’ll be performing a periodic calibration of the PDK going forward. It is required that PDK fluid is changed for calibration. Hence, I’ll be performing this PDK clutch calibration after a fluid change. Although I’ll be performing a full calibration, only a clutch bite point recalibration / adaptation is recommended.

The clutch bite adaptation adjust clutch plates for any wear that might had occur in between oil changes.

A full PDK Calibration includes (1) calibration of the selector level position and transmission range sensor; (2) calibration of the distance sensors and (3) adaptation of the clutch bite points.

This video document my experience with the calibration process.

Thank you @Santirx for this excellent DIY video. I was able to complete the PDK 3 stage calibration per your instructions perfectly.

I also did the Transfer case Integrator reset and Angle teach. My pre and post Val’s showed less than 1 degree of change after calibration. I would assume my Tx case clutch is in good shape.
Cheers !

I was having a serious clunk going into and out of first gear, really noticed it coming off interstate ramps and low speed city driving. Putting into sport mode helped. I checked PDK fluid first, no problem there. Next I did the PDK calibration.
It takes awhile to get to 40C with your wheels off the ground! I completely missed the temperature ranges.
It was the first time I have used PIWIS. You‘re on a timeframe, I got timed out a few times. Could be old man disease.
Keep the videos coming! You’re doing an excellent job!

Did the clutch bite calibration solve the issue?

Thanks for the great video! Very helpful!

T003 is the internal temperature of the electronics of the transmission control computer.
T004 is the temperature of the PDK clutch/mechatronics fluid. This is the one that is important for the Calibration/adaptation routine.
T005 is the temperature of the gear-oil, in the gearbox section of the PDK transmission. This temperature sensor is only present in V6 engine equipped Macans.

Where did you find the reset for the Transfer Case Wear Integrator? I could not find it my X431 Launch. What is the POR software version in your X431?

Interesting feedback I got from a Porscshe indy:

Hi XZY, yes we can reset the calibrations but it's not recommended for every car. By resetting it, you will be going back to factory values. But do not forget that your transmission and transfer case are not brand new. Wear from thousands of miles might cause clearance issues, and you might experience clunky and hardy shifting transmission. Just giving you a heads up. We need the car here for a couple of hours. We charge $240 for the calibration reset.

I agree with @VAGfan. The process compares values and adjust. For example, this is the wording on the clutch bite adaptation:

During adaptation of the clutch friction points, the learning values of clutch adaptation are reset and the clutch pressure required to close the clutch enough so that it just begins to transfer torque are taught.

So, it compensates for any wear.

Just a heads up to everyone, this is on sale for $380: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08ML7T7KZ
That is the Maxicheck MX808S, which according to autel's site: Vehicle Coverage | AUTEL
