100, 000 HK dollars is approximately $13,000 . That's a lot of deposit even with it being relative to the much higher MSRP in Hong Kong .

 

Minichamp don't feel so bad, I placed my order in early August here in Macau and put HKD150,000 down -- Still no build date. I suspect it is the distributor, Jebsen Motors, they handle the import of Porsches to both Hong Kong and Macau. I have friends in China who were able to get their Macan in 3-4 months!

Yes, I do get a 2016 build year, just hoping they include more standard equipment... And more color options!

 

Bert, the $150k is for 'quota + deposit' right? My SA told me I have to deposit extra $50k when I get my build date as the formal deposit. So it adds up to the same $150k that you put down. Any news as to when yours is going to arrive?

And yes, I see Macans in china already! I work there mon-fri and its fustrating seeing them readily available just 1hr north of hk. Lol.

 

What a scam! They take all that money and don't have to make any commitment, and could easily put other people in front of you without you knowing, thus making you wait longer. They could take dozens of orders more than a realistic allotment, and you wouldn't know it.
That really sucks.

Did you have to wait at all for your Macan? I've seen some around but still not that many in hk.

 

I waited 3 or 4 months, bought one from the existing stock cars that are coming. Meaning I can't chose any options/colours etc. My car has a lot of options that I don't need/want. Anyhow it is a nicely optioned car, only two options I didn't like were the rims and the skid plate.


My car already arrived in HK, but I am waiting for the 2015 registration.

Thanks to this forum I kept my options of a minimum to stay under the $61,000 lease limit Porsche set. I strayed a few hundred north of that figure to get the towing package. It adds greatly to the utility of the S and the $600 or so price was worth it. Delivery is four months away. They had a white one on sale I looked at, but they put a clear bra on it and that added $1500 to the retail price.

Lease is for 1200 miles a month was just under a grand, but the taxes and license and fees pushed it just over that mark. I could have purchased a Lexus NX hybrid with all wheel drive and hitch and the lease would have been $900.

As for the Palladiu, my wife likes it and with black rails, chrome, and tires it should look good....if not I will take the Porsche name off the back and put on a Subaru badge so I won't bring shame to the marque.

 

That is where I cannot lease from Porsche. I currently lease a $68,000 BMW X5 for 36 months and 12,000 miles/year. Upfront costs were 1st month payment, sales taxes and registration. Monthly payment is $724. Thus, I cannot understand why a $61,000 Porsche can cost you close to $1,000/month. When I was looking at the X5 I talked to my Porsche SA about their leasing options for a Cayenne. When he heard I was considering a BMW he said he could not compete and would not recommend me to lease a Cayenne. That is why I am buying the Macan.

I placed a deposit in Nov. for a turbo and was quoted for Q1 2016. Saw an awesome black turbo with 21" yesterday at tai hang, same specs I would order for mine.

 

Thanks. It will be great and I personally like the skid plates and ordered them. Aside from what i think looks good with a white or black exterior and similar color rims; the skid plates might actually protect something. Don't know what but I'm sure it will be protected

 

A lease has several factors of which the most important is the residual value. Porsche has placed a low value on the Macan so that raises the payments. At the end of the lease you can expect to have several thousand dollars to the good with a Macan.
