Got email also. Great news for me. Paid for new transfer case for my 2015 Turbo in July. Now I have $3,000 coming back to me. My brother's 2015 has been clunking for awhile also. He was holding out. Now they are coming to pick his up next week. Surprised not more people reported this defect.

When I saw that I got an email from Porsche coming across my phone alert I got excited thinking it was about my new one about to be built. Nope, it was for my 2018 GTS (early build date, Nov 2017). I guess no one has bought my poor beloved from wherever you buy insurance totaled cars from and let Porsche know.

#46 ·
mine was a May 2018 build. no email.

I didn’t get any e-mail so I asked my SA. It is confirmed that the warranty is extended to seven years also for Switzerland, but they won’t explicitly notify it to customers; it seems to me that the proactive communication was an initiative of PCNA.

Now I have to check with my other dealership if this also applies to my wife’s 2018 Cayenne, which is also prone to TC issues.

Just had mine replaced under this new extended warranty the previous owner traded it in due to the fact that transfer case was going and he didn't want to have to replace it out of warranty (I figured that out after I purchased it) they ended up issuing the extension 2 weeks after I purchased it thankfully so I got it replaced and got a great deal on the purchase because of it.

Unfortunately I also found the timing chain cover leak and they were only willing to replace the bolts claiming they have had great success with that and they had to do it as a first measure...total BS.

I know some folks on the forum have only some bolts replaced for the timing chain cover leak. What is the success rate for that approach?

Has anyone received a reimbursement yet? If they have, how long did it take? Porsche is really dragging their feet on this one.

Not yet. I had about $200 to receive since I paid a small part of the repair while the majority was covered by Porsche's goodwill at that time since there was no recall yet.

Just took my 2015 turbo with 57k miles to Premier Porsche in Atlanta. I do have the symptoms of transfer case failure. Dealership/service center is top notch. I have. 2021 Macan base for a loaner.. like the dash...I think. They said there is a shortage of transfer case mounts...and so they couldn’t give me a specific days before my Macan would be ready.

I have a 2015 Macan S that I had the Transfer Case replaced and paid out of pocket. According to Porsche they sent out said notice in September 2020 that if your vehicle was affected that you submit claim to Transfercasewarrantyextention with receipt of Porsche service, your credit card receipt, and registration then they would reimburse you for your out-of-pocket cost of repair within (10) weeks (by December 2020). I still have not received said reimbursement and after numerous calls and emails. They keep saying that they are still reviewing my claim. Question: Has any other owners of affected Macans who paid out of pocket and submitted claims received their reimbursement check?

I too have not received my reimbursement check. I have not run across one person who has. Won’t purchase another Porsche until I do. Check this article out.

Hey guys,

My transfer case in my 2015 started acting up again with jerky stutters.

I replaced the transfer case fluid myself last year, and the car drive like stock.

I didn't want to do it again myself, so I called the dealership and they informed me there is a recall on the transfer case due to moisture buildup!! Best news all year.. Haha.

I asked when the warranty ends, and told it was over 10 years.

Go get yours replaced with a new one!

Where are you located? Everyone gets a free TC replacement.

I hear you... with this extension, my warranty expires on Nov of this year (took delivery on Nov 2014)... hopefully mine is one of the reliable ones, but... I’m concerned too.

I just recently saw a small oil drip under my engine.... so, anything can happen.

I was told as far back as November 23 that the reimbursement check would arrive within weeks. Again I was told the same exact thing on January 13. Not nice to be lied to. I have let Porsche know how I feel.
Go to Porsche Contact Us - Porsche USA and indicate to them that this is not acceptable. Prepared to take legal action.

Contact your state's Attorney General's office and file a complaint.

PCNA should be ashamed. This is not customer service.

Hello everyone, I have a 2017 base (18k miles, salvage rebuild, private sale) and am getting a text book case of the dreaded transfer case problems. My question is if anyone has any information regarding the 7 year warranty on this part. As this is not a recall and a salvage rebuild bought private party is this warranty void? Also should I stop driving to avoid any catastrophic failure on any other components other than the transfer case itself? I am a good 200 miles from a dealership, and 50 or so miles from nearest independent shop Am I okay to drive at all?

Thanks,
-Kelly

I drove for a few months after first noticing symptoms. They started to get more pronounced but probably logged a thousand miles or more before taking it in.
