I don't see why not. I even think they are interchangeable ... S into the Turbo

The S tips look exponentially better in my opinion - but after all, it is just personal preference. The square tips look cheap to me.

 

I sorta can't believe they gave the best tips to the S. Its one of the reasons i started considering the Macan in the first place as i knew i wasnt going all in for the Turbo.

Well, the square tips come standard on the Panny TT, TTS, and Cayenne TTS, apparently Porsche doesn't think they look cheap.

Better than having a round tip growing on you - & necessitating an adjustment.

 

I happen to like traditional sports car things. Round double twins are just so classic and timeless. I am really glad that Macan S comes with these.

Audi has them on all S-series as well, and I prefer the round double twins to the ones in different RS-versions. Classic and timeless, again.

All other shapes seem to last just some years and then the designers need to back to their drawing boards again.

 

Totally agree. All a matter of personal preference though.

 

I like the turbo ones way better. Round are like the typical Tunning cheap ones. Plus knowing that the Diesel version have those...no thanks

 

I way way prefer the square tips, especially with black exterior and the upgraded skid plates.

The round ones are so commonplace, and coming from an R8, the double round exhaust look cheap (ie V8 engine, and NOT the V10 engine)

My round tips along with the SS skid plates and Agate Grey are a complete knock-out in my opinion.

 

If u look at most of the option upgrades for other Porsches, the round tips are the ones available for the upgrades. Most of the lower tiered carts have square tips. That being said the Turbo square tips r cool but I don't see the need to replace my S round tips.

 

I'm not sure what Porsche cars you're looking at, but the Panny Turbo S and Cayenne Turbo S, upcoming new Cayenne Turbo, 991 Turbo and Turbo S all come standard with square tips. Those aren't exactly lower tiered cars. :nerd:

 

Hello. I'm responding to an old post asking whether the Macan Turbo rectangular tailpipes were interchangeable with the Macan S round tailpipes. Did you ever get a definitive answer from anyone or better yet get the rectangular ones installed? If so what was the extent of parts necessary and cost for parts/labor? Thanks.

 

While I cant confirm 100% I think so.


I've taken off and replaced a Turbo tailpipe in about 30 seconds just to check how it's mounted. It's locked in place with a single T20 Torx screw. No hoist needed.


From the pictures on E-Bay of a second hand S tip, it look like identical mounts.

Different tips are available from Suncoast Porsche Parts, and there are less expensive knock-offs on eBay.

Judging by some of the earlier responses in this thread, you might want to find a Turbo owner who is selling their old tips after replacing them with round ones.

While I can't say for sure whether the Turbo tips will fit an S model, judging by the pictures and description for the ones on eBay, it sure looks like it's a straight-up swap. Just one clamp attaches them to the exhaust pipe.

One thing to confirm is whether the exhaust tip cut-out on the valence/skid plate is the same shape for the S as the Turbo.

Hopefully, someone here who has actually done the swap can chime-in with a more definitive response.

It would be for the Macan 4 cylinder model. Diesel looks identical to Macan S.

 

Personally, the chrome PSE tips are my favorite visual accent on my S... Love them.

 

Yes, I've noticed those tailpipes sold from Chinese/HK sellers were meant for single exhaust systems to emulate the S/Turbo tailpipes. I've got a quote from my DTLA Porsche dealer for 2-inner and 2-outer Turbo (rectangular) tailpipes for 126 USD each. For a total of 504 USD. Other parts websites seems to sell it for about 50 USD more at least. After the dealer is able to 100% confirm tailpipe interchangeability between the S and Turbo models, I'm gonna hope to get them as new OEM and install them myself, if easy enough. Thanks you guys for the info.

If your car has not yet arrived, and if you can get the new tips prior to it's arrival, there's a chance the dealership might install them for you free of charge during the vehicle pre-delivery inspection. Talk to your SA about it.

If the parts have to come from Germany, it might be worth it to you to pay the 15% expedited shipping fee to get them here in 7 days instead of 30 days. And the 7 day delivery will probably be more like 2 or 3 days for something that size.

You should be able to install them yourself, if it comes to that. Just some food for thought.

 

I just had PSE installed and have a set of turbo tips with 6000 miles of use I would like to sell.
Does $400 total for the 4 seem reasonable?
BTW Porsche uses high quality stainless steel for their tips

 

Sounds very reasonable to me! I kind of decided to keep my square tips. I have Remus and love it. When I sell I might have to reinstall the square tips to be CPO, right??

I also added the skid plate and it looks awesome with the black Remus carbon tips!
