Macan trailer hitch wire plug 2018 MACAN S

I'm installing a ZCI trailer wiring harness to my 2016 Macan. I've checked the Forum for related posts with no luck

Does anyone know the wire pin designations on the 14-pin connector plug? Both right and left connector plugs have 7 wires per half of the plug, with a brown wire (ground) being numbered #1.

I found a connector plug schematic for the Cayenne, but it's a 10-pin, and I'm not quite sure the wiring sequence for turn, tail, and stop lights is the same.

Unfortunately information about connecting a wiring harness on a Macan on the internet is non-existent.

I successfully installed Tekonsha's 119251 ZCI to my 2016 Macan S

Here's the rear tail light connector's wire layout found behind the rear cargo panel:

Both the left and right cargo panels remove easily by pulling up in the detent handle area. Remove both the right and left panels. I connected the left turn, tail, and brake sensors on the black wires running from the female connector side to the tail light. THERE IS NO NEED TO TAKE THE CONNECTOR APART UNLESS YOU'RE CURIOUS. I'D LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE. The black wires run to the light. The colored wires are on the male plug side. Match the colored wire to the opposing black wire, connect the sensor, and you're done. The wires running to the light are about 16 gauge. I used a 1 1/2" piece of 12 gauge wire to hold the 16 gauge wire in the sensor's canal where the wire lays. The right turn signal's sensor is connected in the same wire (#2) sequence as the left connector shown above. Three sensors (stop, tail, left turn) are connected to the left's tail light's wires, and only one (right turn) on the right's tail light's wires. One sensor with the arrow showing in attached is showing in the picture above.

Connecting the ZCI's power wire to the battery under the spare tire is quite simple. On the positive post connector is a threaded stud sticking up with enough threads showing to connect the black power wire. There is no need to disconnect the battery cable to connect power to the ZCI box. I connected the white wire (ground) to the left rear fender behind the cargo panel at a lonely screw looking to be useful. It now serves a purpose.

Had I known the rear tail light's connector's wires' sequence before I started the job at the most I would have spent 1 hour on this job. I stretched that to over 4 hours chasing down the right wire sequence, checking, and rechecking, and figuring out where to attach my power wire.

Follow the power-up instructions to the letter i.e., ensure the 15-amp fuse is not inserted into the fuse holder until the power is turned on, and after ensuring the light switch is turned off. Insert the fuse then test the turn signals, lights, and brakes for about 5 seconds each to teach the ZCI box the wire setup.

You're done and ready to trailer with lights!
