Ok UK prices are in

Macan 4 - £69,800 and on steel springs
Turbo - £95,000 and on air suspension
$84,500 for base
$106,950 for Turbo

How I would spec it would be $114,230. which is minimal options. No bling. For that much money I can get a stripped 992.

I think you are right about the clean look. Here in Toronto I use the rear wiper quite a bit in snowy, slushy weather So I really need one.
No, its a $370 option. That tells me that its like the 911 was, you don't need to because of the aerodynamics. You wouldn't need it for snow either. Its magical how the bad weather doesn't accumulate.

...and no federal/state EV ($7500) rebate in the US...

Hold me back!!! (NOT!!!)
Not correct. For example, NYS has a $500 rebate for Porsche EV and e-hybrid cars. Also, the Federal credit is available if you lease. The state credit and rebate rules vary by state. Also, some states exempt sales tax on EV cars. Some states also give rebates or credits for charging equipment and provide for discounted tolls. People need to check their state’s rules.

The three presenters, IMO, were targeting their audience. I don't think it was for US or EU consumption and looked FAR different than the 2013 Announcement at the LA Auto Show. And having a voiceover for the German video seemed amateurish to me.

I thought she said the Turbo was 0 - 62 in 3.2 When I look at these Tesla numbers, it does not seem impressive. Thats 2018 Model 3 top trim level times, five years old. I would expect Porsche to be better than Tesla.

I agree the target audience was crystal clear and it wasn't us! Not sure about the other vehicles but I've been driving a 5 second Macan with a 400+ mile range for just shy of 10 years, so my statement was more around the fact that performance nor economy (for an electric at least) will not be a deal breaker. Although yeah, although Porsches are not typically drag strip kings, it would be nice to be one! :)

You know those incentives will get yanked the moment we all have one .

Consumers drive the market and Porsche is watching . The reason why they are retaining ICE Macan in the USA is because they want to see if they can dump it or not . The more people who buy the EV the quicker they can dump ICE . No one buys EV and they might even do a North America redesign . Plus who knows where Europe wil, stand on it by then . Remember when they all had diesel and thought we were stupid because we didn't. . Haha . We saw that that turned out.

Back to consumers EV -- Those price increases we see in 2024 are a result of Porsche watching US customers paying ADM . The Macan got a modest bump because many didnt pay it . The 911 got a huge increases because many did !!

The majority of this forum does not want EV . The majority of dealerships cringe at EV . They are stuck selling the public a crap sandwich when were doing just fine charging 100K over MSRP for a Gt3 2 years ago (ICE baby ICE) !!

It even looks like a blob .

I am already looking ahead . It might be a cayenne v8 if the Macan phases out first ,

My Porsche dealer is giving Taycans as loaners. My SA said nobody wants those cars. The Macan EV looks like a Taycan which is not a fun car at all. Hertz is dumping their Teslas. Winter has turned most electric cars here in the Midwest in useless cars. Nobody wants electric cars but hey… our Government thinks we do. I will keep my Macan S until it dies. The car is an absolute pleasure to drive.

I have a feeling what model my next Porsche loaner is going to be.
I actually don't hate the way it looks. Good color choices. Interior design looks nice and clean.
And in cherished Porsche fashion you can put $8650 wheels on the base model.
But I'm not paying $100K+ for a battery on wheels, sorry.

I agree with you. If people wanted these cars the Federal and state governments wouldn’t be offering these incentives. I’m simply correcting an incorrect statement.

Sorry mate but that’s not a valid comparison, one is a basically a 2+2 sports car with the +2 part very much for small children and a tiny boot where as the other is a practical car that can carry 4 adults in comfort and 5 at a push with a decent sized boot.

No one even considers one against the other.

BTW I built mine and it ended up at £99K, the uk seem to quite decently specced which is so unlike Porsche. :ROFLMAO:

Yep it’s nice to have the rear wiper as an option, personally I added it to my build because rain is so common in my neck of the woods.

I was offered one as a loaner this week when I brought my wife’s car in for annual service and NYS inspection. I politely declined.

I know you are new here but do you know the target demographics for the Macan? It goes back to 2013, was published, and quoted here, you just got to search. The targets were DINKS (Double Income, No KidsS) and empty nesters.

If you really read closely many of the discussions, while I espouse the actual functionality of a CUV, that is to haul cargo and people, and softroading, many here, from Day 1, back in May, 2014 with the first deliveries in the USA, view it as a sports sedan, or a substitute for a sports sedan. Some come from BMW sedans, M3s and the like.

So while I believe the Macan's function as a CUV, that is exactly what I did, had a deposit down on a Turbo and dumped it for a 911. ;) I know an another did that too. Once the cost gets to a certain point, the leap is not all that much more.

Ford Lighting EVs aren't selling to their predictions and production has been cut. They sold 24K out of .....wait for it .... 750,000 F150s. It looks like they are moving manpower from EV production to Broncos, ICE production.

I believe those that haul heavy items love and need torque. You would think an EV pickup provides that instant torque. But maybe the more they haul, the quicker the battery dies. But about boats, and hauling them, not to go too far astray, I'm sure the Telsa Truck could haul boats, after all, it can tow a 911 :) and be faster than it, but I'm not sure your reasoning is correct. Boating is huge around here too and many near the water own them. We are not close to the water but there are people who keep boats, not huge yachts but motorboats with outboard engines. I don't think they keep them to parade them around the neighborhood but more because its just cheaper to store them on their property than rent space at a marina. That cost $$$$, keeping them at home is free. Just a thought. Free is good. Paying rent is bad. And you get to haul stuff from Home Depot too.
That is absolutely correct. According to a report from MotorTrend, towing a 7,218-pound trailer brought the range down to just 90 miles, while towing a 3,140-pound trailer still brought it down to only 115 miles, which is considerably less than half the range of the truck when it's not towing anything. I tow my car trailer about 50K per year and I never tow less than 160 miles each way and where I go there are no chargers. I would never buy an EV truck for towing anything.

Watched all 47 minutes of the launch video. 42 minutes of fluff, 5 minutes of real content about the new EV. There will be 2 models, the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo. Also, the configurator for the Macan EV is active. A little glitchy, but you can get an idea of the options, colors, etc.
