FWIW, I took a different route. My state does not use front plates, but I had holes to contend with from front plate holder... I decided to throw a European front license plate on my 2017 GTS. I was able to find the front plate holder at Suncoast (look up 95BSPLATE and you will find multiple options). There are many places online that can create a new plate or source an expired one. I was able to source the official stickers that were in effect in 2017, as a subtle touch. I personally like the look and thinks this presents as unique.

for license plates -- I've always used silicon license plate frames.
1 - frame gets dirty, wash it off
2 - cannot scratch or scratch the actual rear valance that it's attached to
3 - light weight / plyable / etc.
4 - because it's not metal, if you have a custom system, it doesn't rattle and make your car sound like it's on a budget
5 - it's relatively cheap

I had this on my 991.1 for a while.
Saw that on a "beater" car in my train commuter lot a few years ago and was thinking of putting that on my Macan or Cayenne but never did. I go with the simple silicone one on mine and wife has the simple black one from the dealer which their name is relatively small.

if you want extra padding just add some fine sound deadening foam to the back of the silicon plate frame and you'll never know it's there - just ensure it's thin enough where it doesn't stress the screws... the screws and valance are pretty low quality and thin.
