I got an LCD Lhifang dash clock from ACARDash for review, and later got one from HXHY (this one I had to buy). I plan on releasing a review video at some point, but wanted to give a preview:
Lhifang Clock doesn’t look OEM, but has some gimmicks some people may like, like CanBus messaging interaction (door ajar, TPM - which can be very intrusive while driving), proximity sensor alerts, etc…). Faces do not mimick OEM and they are too bright, especially for night driving even when you lower brightness. The biggest issue for me on this is that it has a horrible boot logo every time it turns on, and the boot logo is there for like 15 seconds. This clock have multiple faces, some of which look clownish, but some closer to OEM look but not OEM.
HXHY Clock looks very good. High resolution and contrast, while having a softness and better texture on faces. Brightness seems to be really well calibrated and tuned so that is not overtaking. The faces are a copy of OEM faces and sometimes is even hard to distinguish from real clock other than because is brighter. It boots into clock immediately (no boot logo). It only functions as a clock, with no Canbus interaction. It has 4 type of faces and then multiple colors per face (6-8, can’t remember). All faces look OEM.
You can see a comparison of the white faces.
More to come, stay tuned. A video is in editing right now…
