when you have it on full screen (no window version) and you want to adjust the fader or treble and bass.....how do you guys get to it? coz when I get our of CarPlay, YouTube or Spotify stops playing.

 

Does this work with a USB-C stick too with all Macans or should I just try with the SD to be safe? I have a 2020

I used a micro SD card in an SD card adapter. The screen went blank for a bit at first, but finally updated.

The same thing happened to me, when I press the button on the steering wheel the call goes on hold and I can't hang up. Before the change in resolution it wasn't like that. When I pressed the button on a call, it would hang up, it wouldn't go on hold.

 

I highly doubt this is from the mod. If you look around, there are quite a few reports of buggy CarPlay phone call handling on Macans.

 

You can always uninstall it. See if the functionality goes back to the way it was before.

Do you have a moment to give me step by step directions. I'm having trouble on how to extract everything correctly onto my SD card using windows.
I tried to extract the modkit zip file onto the SD card but it only put the zip file onto it. Should I unzip the contents and then copy the contents: Data Logs Meta Mods License Readme onto the SD Card?
And then should I do the same thing with the Windowed Carplay contents.... unzip and then copy the 7 files into the Mods folder? This will mean the _uninstall.sh is the first file
Not sure why I am finding this so confusing.

Q: This SD CARD Tool is only valid for converting EXISTING CARAPLAY to FULL SCREEN CARPLAY.
Or does it also enable it, if not purchased from factory side?

Other question would be its Android Auto in the way also possible or in this point not?

The mod kit can be used to make many mods. The two currently available change CarPlay/Android Auto from 2/3 screen to full screen. Nothing more.

100% works on a 2019 macan PCM 5.0! Full screen works great! If you need help and are int he northern Indiana area PM me and I will be glad to help you! Thank you guys sooo much for this mod it saved me a lot of cash to have it done online and it worked flawlessly!

 

PCM5 modding has been relatively complicated and closed off. So I decided to make the MH2p SD ModKit (MH2p SD ModKit).

It is a free ModKit that allows you to modify your MH2p system using only an SD card (no ethernet adapter and Telnet needed!). It is intentionally open so that anyone can make mods for it! If you are a developer, check out LawPaul/MH2p_SD_ModKit: allows for modifying the MH2p unit used in some Volkswagen AG vehicles using only an SD card.

The first mod I am releasing with it installs the true full screen CarPlay mod I worked on with @UncleMacan.

This mod changes your CarPlay from this:

Dear CarmineS, sincerely thank you! I have been nagging Porsche to upgrade the screen for carplay as it seemed ridiculous you could only use ⅔ with the other blacked out. I was nervous to trust in downloading a system from the internet that may be malicious. However this is how it should be. I went with keeping the edge still from PCM5. I have a 21 Macan, I believe everything post 2019 is running the PCM5 which your mod works with. Once again thanks, this system is simple to install thanks to your genius.

 

Curious to know who has had this mod the longest? Everyone seems to love it and appreciate it. Wondering if anyone has come up with errors or concerns or issues after running the mod after a few months. Thanks

 

From my understanding this mod just changes particular parameters so it won't cause any errors or issue. In theory it's like changing the screen resolution on windows.

 

Doing the mod tomorrow morning. I’m leaning towards the window full screen so that I can easily access the stock side bar buttons on infotainment screen quicker than pushing the Porsche App Icon on full screen. Put also like full screen so that buttons are all larger. Curious to know if anyone has gone from one to another and tried both and can share their thoughts and preferences?

 

I went from full screen to windowed, preferred windowed felt a bit more OEM if that makes sense. YMMV

 

I’m on full and I just use the hard buttons under. Pretty easy and CarPlay just looks stunning full.

 

unrelated to this mod, is anyone getting their CarPlay switch back to the Porsche main page…then back to CarPlay again on random? I’m on wired and I don’t know why it’s doing that. Was doing it even before this mod FYI. I’m using Anker cables (tried two) and no change.

 

I get that sometimes when a ford is around and sometimes when it's really cold, I think maybe ice accumulates on the parking sensor and that makes it go back and forth. Very annoying. Even if I turn off the sensors, it persists.

 

My biggest issue is the stock CarPlay buttons on the left side are too tiny for my thick finger tips. Does window full screen make those three side bar button any bigger or just going full screen fixes that issue? Thanks

 

It only makes Carplay fullscreen it doesn't modify the factory side buttons/sidebar. If you can't press the buttons maybe get a stylus?

I installed the full screen mod on my 2022 Macan S, which works perfectly with my wife's iPhone, thank you @CarmineS! However, I'm having a hard time getting Android Auto with the Carlinkit 4.0 to behave properly with the mod. When i set the resolution to 1920x720, which I believe is the screens native resolution, I get an empty black box on the right occupying about a third of the screen. However, the touchscreen input acts as if Android Auto was occupying the full screen even though it's not. So all objects that aren't left aligned are slightly offset to right of where they are displaying making interacting with it an absolute pain, as i have to guess where they would be if full width was being utilized. The only way i can get Android Auto to populate the full width is to set the resolution to 1920x1080, but then the bottom portion of the screen is cut off. To anyone currently using the Carlinkit 4.0, is there a particular combination of settings you are using to get it working properly? Debating on whether i should continue fighting with this adapter or just return it and wait for the native AA SD mod.

 

I never got the 4.0 to work, even at stock size, and returned mine. Ottocast works just fine at either out of the box.

Are you running an Iphone or Android? I am debating between Ottocast or MMB for my Android with this mod on the 2025 GTS that is currently being built.

 

Thank you! it worked well on a 2019 macan, although I had to change my sd card to make it work. Would you be able to create a mod to enable Carplay wireless ? There is a country restriction that disable it on my car.

 

I tried this too and it's working on my 2022 Macan S - thank you CarmineS. I only have usb-c in my car, so I used a usb-c pen drive instead of an SD card which worked fine.

Carplay works well full screen - looks amazing. However android auto only takes up about 2/3 on my carlinkit adapter. I also tried an ottocast mx but it didn't even display anything on the screen.

What success have others had with wireless AA?

 

I had a Carlinkit 4.0 and nothing but problems with the resolution; even before the mod. And returned it.

Got an Ottocast U2-X Pro, worked out of the box before and after the mod no issues.
