Thanks for posting this. Any chance you could post close up pics of the jacking points? I am thinking of getting a quick jack and trying to figure out if I would need the extensions. One of of the earlier pics that shows the extensions makes them look kind of pointless - it looks like the jacking points are overlapping almost completely with the original platform. But more pics are always better!
Sorry, I don't have any close-up pictures but will take some next time I have it up. That might not be until fall though.

If you get the newer TLX or older EXT versions, you will not need extensions. If you get the SLX or current TL version you will be pushing your blocks pretty much out to the maxium point spread without extensions. I personally use the 7000 EXT - these things are heavy and take up enough room as it is, not dealing with extensions is a plus.
I'd look around to see if anyone has any EXT versions left in stock for a discount - try pelican, turner, costco etc. Quick Jack also puts these on sale around SEMA time (End of Oct-Nov).

Do you have other vehicles you will be lifting? Another consideration, if you ever go electric in the future, the spread on the lift points are very very wide.

Is having the blocks at the maximum points a problem though? Is it unsafe? I just grabbed a tape and checked...the 60" range of the TL could cover most of the 2 rectangular lifting points. It looks like it would come around 1" short of each lift point at the ends.

You absolutely do not want to be short - the jacking points are little plastic jack adaptor boxes that could crush if weight is un-evenly distrubuted. They are notorious for breaking especially with the crap OEM roadside jack in the trunk (BMWs do this too) - there are a couple existng threads - here's an example DIY: Jacking Points Replacement

I just would not risk the vehicle falling off the jacks or worse onto you. Further - I would highly recommend using an aluminum jack pad adpator in addition to the lifting blocks. TL/SLX are fine with extensions, EXT / TLX for sure without extensions.

I have a quickjack BL-7000SLX that I purchased 2 years ago. It will definitely work with a 2017 Macan S and a 2003 996TT. It is very tight on the 996 and is just at the limit for lifting the Macan w/o the need for the extension. It also works on my Tacoma so it was a win/win/win for me.

I am slowly coming to the realization that I'm going to buy a quickjack. I haven't fully come to terms with it yet but I know it's inevitable. I had to jack my Macan S up and use stands the other day and it was such a pain. Even using the designated hidden jacking points, they're so close to the plastic rectangles that it's almost impossible to get the stand in place while the jack is still there.

Still the kicker with the quickjack is that you still need the extensions for the Macan even after spending $1300 on the basic set up. Anyone ever regretted buying one?

I have a 7000 Pounds Quick jack for around 3 years now. I still regret not buying one earlier in life; Vehicle maintenance is so easy with it. I would recommend you buying it thru the Costco website. Better price thru it.

When I purchased mine the difference between 5000 pounds and 7000 pounds was only $75 dollars. Costco normally have packages that include the needed Truck Adapter Kit. If you only plan to do maintenance on the Macan, you will need the 5000 pounds Extended (TLX) Lift. If you are like me, with multiple size vehicles on the household. Then I recommend buying the Standard Length (TL) Version, Frames Extensions (Will convert your (TL) Lift into a (TLX) and the Truck Adapter Kit. If an electric vehicle could be on your horizon; then opting for the 7000-pound lift will be a smart investment.

Sorry, don't have a picture with the Macan on it. I was servicing the Brakes on the Boxster during this photo.

I purchased the QJ 7000TL from Costco and the SUV pads and wall hanger were included in the sale price. I use the QJ on my wife's '18 Macan all the time. I just completed the Intermediate Service on it the other day. And a few months before that I did the PDK service on it also. It makes it so easy. I also use it to service my '23 Boxster as well.

Right now Costco is offering $300 off until the 27th, so the 5000TL model is 1300 but the 7000 is a couple of hundred more. I'm leaning towards the 5000 since that'll be enough and I will have to get the extensions too.

Quickjack has easily paid for itself in my case. I like it so much more now that I added casters to make it easier to move around.

Don't you end up spending the same amount as just buying the 7000TL that already comes with the pads.

DO IT! To anyone thinking of buying one do it, I’ve used mine so many times since I bought it and wondered why I did not pull the trigger sooner! I got the 5000 with extensions (needed them for the Panamera) from Costco.

Pull the trigger you won’t be disappointed

I'm not sure what you mean by pads, I need the frame extensions that extend the lift point spread from 60" to 66". It's the same for the 5000TL and 7000TL models. They're usually over $300. The TLX model has that spread built in but it it's not any cheaper in the end, anywhere that I've seen.

Do you use the 7000TL on the macan without the frame extensions?

I see what you mean by "extensions" now, apologies for missing that. I do use the 7000TL without the extensions for the Macan. The frame juuuuust reaches the front and rear lift points. Earlier I was referring to the truck/SUV pads. They take up the extra space between the chassis and the QJ frame due to the extra height of the vehicle. When you buy the 7000TL from Costco the SUV/truck pads are included.

That lift system looks great, other than having to store something large between usage.

Are those cube blocks between the vehicle and the lift platform loose or bolted?
They sell wall hangers which is how I store mine. They are heavy so I made sure the bottom of the QJ rests on the floor and the hook just holds the top from falling away from the wall. I only have to lift the QJ about a half inch to clear the wall hanger and move them into place. Another option is just to leave them on the floor pushed together under the middle of the car if you have enough clearance to drive over them. Pull in over the QJs, pull them out to the sides of the car, plug them in, and use them.

I store mine together (One on top of the other) against the garage wall. They only protrude 10 inches. They are secured with two pieces of chain and a quick release at the end. I covered the chains with a piece of a bicycle tube, so the chain doesn't scratch the Quickjack.
Nothing fancy but looks neat and secured from falling onto a vehicle.
