CERAMIC COATING
I have been ceramic coating my cars since my 2015 MACAN S,my current 2018S
I have a 24 S at the port.
My question is for this ceramic coat on a white car, garaged, very low mileage, does it make sense to have it done with one of the very expensive exclusive brands, 5 year
Warranty. Or have it done every
2-3 years for the same total $? I have a good installer that comes to the house
for the less expensive ceramic.

I'd probably go for the 2-3 year plan. You may inevitably require some paint correction after 2-3 years.

 

I have used $40 amazon ceramic coatings and more expensive stuff. There really isn't much difference to be honest. With ceramic coatings it all comes down to the person installing it and the prep work they do. That is way more important than all the marketing that comes from these "different" ceramic coatings. (We are talking about true ceramic coatings, not waxes that have ceramic in them)

This past weekend I installed Carbon Force (Wanted to try it as it was Car & Drivers top pick recently)
I started by washing the car with a product to strip off old wax and sealants.
I then clay bared the whole car.
Next was the rotary polisher to remove the larger scratches.
Then I sprayed the car down with an alcohol based finishing product to make sure the surface was as clean and crud free as I could get it.
Lastly I put Carbon Force on the car waited 24 hours for it to cure and applied a second coat and let that cure for 24 hours. (I also did 1 coat on the rims)

Was a good 2 days of work, but I will never have to do it again... (At least on that car)
