Hello,
I already read a lot of posts in the forum about CarPlay retrofit but did not find any comment about my problems.
I have a Macan S 2015 retrofitted with Joyeauto (well, a clone, anyway) since yesterday.
Well, I lost my center box usb power and both 12v plugs, I am not able to charge my iPhone through those...?
Also, when I am in Carplay mode, the parking sensors do not show on the screen, is it normal?
Thanks for any help...

Yep, I mainly use Waze as well. But no turn by turn voice over solution for that one if you want to use AUX BT with CarPlay. The only hope for turn by turn NAV when using AUX BT or wired iPod for that matter is Google Maps because it gives you the option to chose audio output.

Looking forward to a solution that can leverage high quality audio output while allowing pass through of NAV turn by turn Voice over while connected to CarPlay.

Quick question- I have a NetworkWWS adapter which has decent sound quality (for those of you with buzzing, make sure you don't have a loop in your wiring around anything that carries power as this will cause alternator whine) but no support of track skip/advance in either AA or Carplay. I was wondering if this single-board iSudar setup supports the PCM buttons on the faceplate for controlling audio sources via Carplay/AA. I know Joyeauto does. Also, for those of you on Android, I have an AAWireless adapter that plugs into the USB port, and one feature it has is 'BT audio sink' which reroutes audio from Android Auto to A2DP Bluetooth audio. In its current state it does not pass along Google Assistant or Maps voice prompts but they say they'll look into it. I will keep people posted on progress if that is of interest. Thanks!
Can you share this adaptor with me please?

maybe someone can explain/clarify the difference between wifi and bluetooth connection? 'm not sure.
They both had a purpose when you connect wirelessly. CarPlay transmit data via WiFi (including the images you see in the screen) and the audio via Bluetooth when in wireless connection. You can chose not to connect to CarPlay wireless, and then you would need to connect via wire. When wired, both data and audio are transmitted via wire.

Anyone not able to change SOURCE after installing the Isudar (or others)? I am stuck on FM radio, but can't hear anything anyway. SOURCE button just takes me to a System Info screen that tells me System version: v4.75, PCM3.1, Serial Number XXxxx, and has buttons for "Current system" and "History". Otherwise I'm able to connect to CarPlay without issue. Unfortunately with the current situation I've also lost the ability to listen to music via radio, bluetooth, etc. as well as making calls.
The first time I installed the Joye audio solution, I ended up accidentally disconnecting an internal wire (I think it was a fiber) that connected the audio from radio. So, I could hear audio from iPhone, but not radio. When I opened the PCM again, I reseated the connection and it worked.

I’m able to change source.

I would check all connections, especially the ones you made inside the PCM. Your issue is not normal.

About the installation and the tool to remove the vents: maybe this method is not the best in the end.

The following video shows a way to remove the vents with more steps, which I've never seen explained. Instead of removing the whole vent in one step, he removes first the vent face-plate, which hides small holes above the clips; and one can use a tool like an halex key and pull at the correct place above the clips, using much less strength.
Which seems much softer and less prone to breaking plastic stuff or clips:

This is very smart! Thanks for the post.

Having broken and dislocated fins as well as pulling the handle off the official VAG pulling tool (or was it a knock off?) I wish I’d seen this before.

The trim pieces he removed first came flying off during the violence I had to inflict. As I accidentally found out they can easily be removed and replaced and that’s needed to repair or replace fins.

It may be that just earlier Macans suffer from immobile vents more that later. Inspection of the removed left and right vents shows the bottom “peg” that goes into the bottom clip has been bent sideways due to a misalignment of pegs versus holes. It looks like Porsche forgot to cut the bottom hole and it was reworked with a sharp cutter and slightly displaced. The other holes are nicely molded with radiuses edges.

That’s the reason both my bottom clips had the metal clip bent and rolled backwards on one side as they were removed. It takes tremendous force to do that. More force than the official tool can handle.

A small update- I needed to remove the vents again. This time they came out in about a minute each with the help of a single trim wedge tool and my hands. No vent puller required.

This is about what I’d expect from any other part of this of any other well put together car.

I’m now convinced that early model Macans had misaligned lower location posts that were effectively locked in place by jamming the clips.

Has anyone who installed this carplay unit have low volume issues on music? Have my Iphone connected via WIFI / Bluetooth , head unit is set to AUX (cable) and then navi to goto carplay.

music volume AUX is set to +6, and then volume at max its gentle listening volume . phone calls are really loud. but music is not. Has anyone else had this issue and got a fix.

Just as an update, if you run the bluetooth through PCM BT, then load carplay it works fine, but you have to manually wait for PCM bt to connect then change to that source then go into CP.. annoying AF. the AUX cable is useless

One thing you can check:

When connected via AUX, can you verify the actual phone volume level? Because you are connecting through AUX, the volume can also be controlled in the phone and if the volume is low in the phone you won’t be able to hear much.

Before I begin I want to say I did use the search function and had no help.

I just finished installing my Joyeauto CarPlay retrofit into my 2015 macan s.
Install was pretty easy for the most part. After my initial startup everything connected except audio. If I crank the volume I can hear faint crackling. My DP switches are all off except slot 8.

things I’ve tried….
Making sure optical cable is connected to pcm.

pressing aux before entering into CarPlay

all cables and connections are tight

Dummy plug is in

Did hard reset on PCM.

am I missing something? Also noticed when I put car in reverse camera doesn’t pop up. When I connected eveeything I seen the 2wires for back up camera were optional. Do I need to connect them? Any help Would be appreciated.
