Let me contact a few business associates in China. Just kidding.

However, I suspect this will come from there, if ever. It should be good business.

So naturally I fell off the fence and am getting these from bumper plugs.

But let's not forget we are dealing with a dummy. Is the product I will be receiving the complete unit or just a painted lens?

Thank you for helping the needy.

Complete unit.

+1. Why reduce the safety features?
+2. In the remote case of a related accident, injury and someone noticing, a Clarence Darrow caliber attorney wouldn't be needed to make a case for apportioning liability based on a non-compliant modification of a required safety feature intended to protect against that risk. Also, an insurance company may have second thoughts about standing behind that type of claim.

Wow, you guys kill me but in a good, funny way. No offense meant in any way. But I had the pleasure of serving (displeasure? Lol) in the trial part of NYS Supreme Court for the better part of 33 years. I've probably taken in excess of 250 motor vehicle accident cases and discussed the details of hundreds of others with my colleagues. Never have I heard of a mod to a car, especially one as minor as this, being a cause and/or ever being mentioned. Now I guess there's a first time for everything. But I'd say chances of being hit by lightning are about as great.

"Your Honor, my client pleads guilty to side marker modding in the second degree . We ask for this court's leniency as of course my client, is a member of the Macan Forum".

Charges dismissed !

ok, I give up, I scratched up the inside of the wheel well trying to get the damned lining out, then I could not even with a flashlight see any metal clip. I should have taken a photo before I put everything back together and said f*ck it. In the official method, does the screwdriver get inserted perpendicular to the lense or from the REAR of the car through the hole with the screwdriver facing forward ? Even if the latter, with the lining pulled back I saw NO metal.
WHAT A PAIN IN THE A$$. I think I'm going to stay orange. I've had the car since Dec '14 and still no clears with amber bulbs made.

you need the right tools for the job. I couldn't accomplish it by pressing a screwdriver against the well liner so I removed the clips and used a plastic trim removal tool. You can buy a set of them on Amazon for like five bucks or so.

Once you carefully pry the liner away, the clip is flush with the fender well. Use a flashlight and you will see it. You then press the screwdriver straight into it and it will come right out.

If I can do it, anyone can and it took me about five minutes on each side.

This is definitely not worth all this trouble. I'm going to get my refund from BumperPlugs and the way the issues with my car are mounting, I will sell it and not look back. Porsche is too full of themselves. I don't want to know what the maintenance on this car is going to cost after the warranty. Buying it was a huge mistake.

Dude, just take it to the dealership and have them put them in, that's what I did and it looks perfect. If you get them to do it while their doing something else it's unlikely they'll even charge you anything.

You don't know my dealership. They salivate at the opportunity to rape someone with their hourly rate.

I will borrow a friend's trim tools if I decide to try it again but at this point I've lost the interest in painted markers, I would have preferred clear with amber bulbs.

If I keep this car will start going to the independent that cares for my 993.

@DB_NC_15MS Ok, Bye! Thanks for stopping in. Nice try shifting blame for not doing your due diligence, but nope! 0:)

For my Macan the dealer swapped them free of charge while doing something else as you alluded to. For Panamera they charged me 1/2 hr of labor ($90) or so. When I asked why the Macan was free the rep said the Panamera was more time consuming. Not sure whether to believe that or not but it is possible to get it done free of charge.

The method in the owners manual worked just fine for me. Takes about 10 seconds to loosen the lamp. Helps if you turn the wheel out of the way

Just use as thick a screwdriver as fits the hole and it will be aligned with the clip as the hole is designed to do just that. A thin screwdriver can wiggle in many directions. A thick Phillips is best. Look at a picture of the clip. Then you know what you will feel at the end of the screwdriver.

Also you don't have to pull the connector or wire lock. The bulb socket turns 90 degrees to loosen from the lamp.

@jimmy. Yes that is the price. First, no one else makes them. Second, it is not as I originally thought just a painted lens. It is both complete units that are custom painted which are supplied.
