Thank you all for the good advice. I really appreciate the advice I get and read about from this forum from its valuable members
Already stated multiple times... it’s low bumper, more damage likely to happen at some point, not worth the repaint if you are keeping it for awhile.

A good detailer (pay attention to the word good there) will get 90-95% of that out and you’ll eventually forget about it except when you are up close and washing it. I’ve posted in the forum for similar damage on my roof from a garage incident and was able to remove 80% by myself. Admittedly- my paint correction technique has improved since then (along with my tools and compounds), so I may try to re-fix my scratches.

Entirely your call (on money spent vs result)... but count me in the detailer route first and see what you think. I think you’ll be surprised.

Good luck!

LOL - Its an SUV but yes he could just leave it . However if like me it will, start to eat at him . Every time he looks at his car will know its there . Some cope with it better than others . Now imagine this. My 997 turbo bumper is so low naturally that the OEM part is a 200 dollar plastic bit . However I am a nut and spent 2K to buy a beautiful Techart laminated spoiler. Plus the car is dropped on coil overs . I have killed it more times than I can count . At 300 a pop years go painting it became routine maintenance . Finally I finished it off during hurricane Irma . While preparing I stopped to talk to a person I know . I had raised the lip before stopping as I new there was a huge curb . When I finished talking I forgot I had raised it so I actually lowered it just as I went over the curb crushing it . It is now held together by with wizardry of a body shop . Since the car is 14 years old Techart would have to make one and it could take months . I wont buy a fake one .
I am living on the edge. One final wack and its game over !!! I have come close .

That's the danger zone. Not an SUV.

Behold the bane of my existence .

I was looking at an Alpha Romeo 4C Spider along with my tape measure. The front clearance was 3 1/2 inches. How does your car measure up?

I know my wife has the tape measure and she's sleeping . I will measure it and come back to this. I am guessing close to 2 in at the lowest point . What I did do once was without a ruler take my car key and my fingers . The key on its side plus I finger was my car and my same key for two fingers comparing it to a 997.2 Gt3 . I still should have bought that car .

What a shame!

Let us know what your detailer says & if you have a body shop do a repaint. Please post after repair photos.

Since it had been 2 days b4 you noticed it I think you are S.O.L. getting the Valet to admit responsibility.
FWIW, he absolutely knew he damaged your car. This is not 1 tiny scratch. He scraped against another car or an object. A fairly large area of contact.

I have never allowed a Valet to park my cars. Even if the cars were not that nice as they are now. I have walked a long way avoiding this.

I wouldn't repaint it. Get a paint touch-up kit like drcolorchip or similar to fix the scratches. Lots of youtube videos. I've done it before and the results were very good especially for the bumpers which are prone to scratches and road rashes. A detailer can make it look like new again if you don't want to diy.

You might want to try this:
Before this product was released I used Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Solutions Polish to polish out some scuffs on a black TT‘s bumper. I was pretty happy with the results. This black version is for black, grey and other dark colors and might have worked better.

So detailer showed up, said the gash is deep and is a repaint job.

Traction Collision in Houston quoted $400 out the door for the job. I woulda preferred to go the less costly route of getting my detailer to work his magic but he said it aint possible. They will take bumper out, repair, repaint, reinstall. I'm going this route. Thank you for all your suggestions.
