Bordeaux / black leather interior?

How dark is the Bordeaux? I don’t want a red interior but I really like the pictures that show the Bordeaux as being much darker.
I’m thinking either a chalk/Bordeaux or going with a black interior, possibly with either chalk or a blue exterior. I don’t wash my cars often so chalk is appealing. A photo Mr. Wolfe posted of his interior showed it really dark which I loved. What’s the real world color like? I’m trying to go to a dealer to see it in person.

Just picked up my car with Bordeaux Red/Black interior. It’s definitely red. It’s darker than Carmine, and definitely has some maroon undertones in it, but if you don’t want red, you’ll hate it. I’m not a huge fan of bright red interiors and Bordeaux is definitely the sweet spot for me as far as red interiors go, but it is red nonetheless.

I had Bordeaux in my 2019 Cayenne and have Garnett in my 2021 Macan GTS so have personally lived with both. The two colors are actually closer in real life then most online pics would lead people to believe. It saying they are the same, they are not. Garnett is just nowhere near as bright in person as online images look and Bordeaux has that bit of burgundy undertones as noted by another member above. Both are really pleasant to the eye in person and easy to live with inside a closed car cabin (most images of both reds online are with a door / window open which will make both appear brighter then they really are when you are sitting in the car driving).

Think of the Bordeaux as a bit more sophisticated of a red and Garnett ever so slightly more playful. My macan is chalk and I love the Garnett and would equally love the Bordeaux after having it in the cayenne.

Agreed completely. It’s a great color for a daily and I’m super happy with it. But, if OP really doesn’t want red, it’s a terrible choice.

I think these are pretty accurate. The reason there is a fair amount of dialogue about this is b/c the color looks different in different light. Under bright sun, it reads brighter - more RED. In the shade, a grey day, or with the sunroof closed and windows up, it reads more burgundy. I personally am happy with it, and I too was scared it would read too lipstick nasty red.

Isn’t the door panels almost completely Bordeaux in the 2022’s? Or is that the extended leather? Same with below the dash?
Depending on which trim level you went with dictated which one of 3 styles of black / bordeaux red interior was possible on the 22s. Cars being specced now are going to be 23s and it looks like there are only two versions of black / Bordeaux. The one above is the regular and the one with the red door cards and lower dash is the extended.

I have chalk/garnett. I love the Chalk and red interior color combo, adds a little pop of color to chalk (which I think all grey/beige colors need a little bit of contract/color pop). For Garnett, this I believe, is the most accurate color representation I have in my photos. As many have eluded to, its a very hard color to capture via camera to get the true to life color representation, always appearing very bright. I have always found the best/most accurate photos of any red interior are under indoor lighting with zero sunlight.

In my opinion, yes. Its too much **** red! Maybe on a weekend 911/cayman car I would consider, but for a daily driver I don't want to be bathed in red all day; especially since I live in TX with brutal heat and its just adds the the 'feeling' of being hot.

Its a shame too, because extended leather adds a massive amount of luxury to the cockpit with almost everything in stitched leather. I wanted red interior on mine, but would not even consider the extended leather even if it was the same cost as regular leather based on the amount of red it added.

I seriously considered getting the extended full Bordeaux, but I liked the cockpit's stealth with all the black at eye level and below. The red only appears where your arms or body can make contact. I almost regretted the Bordeaux on the arm rests and center console, but once I received it, I was smitten. I kept wishing they'd just make the seats red and leave the arm rests black. I thought it was going to look tacky but I was way wrong.

I have absolutely no regrets with staying with the regular leather package.

It would be nice on the extended if you could have black leather another level lower and it would be perfect. Arm rests red, below that black. Same with just a bit lower on the dash.
