Great sound on the outside but far too much acoustic dampening on the inside. They need to copy the SQ5 by enhancing the sound and playing trough the speakers inside.

The Macan exhaust was very quiet from the inside, for sure. That (soundaktor) is a highly unpopular feature in the Audi world. Once you know it's fake exhaust sound it's hard to listen to it without feeling silly. A lot of Audi guys pull the fuse.

 

Piping engine noise in through the speakers is just stupid. Sorry to be so blunt about it, but there it is. It needs to be the real deal if I'm going to enjoy listening to it. If PSE was standard on the car I would be happy to have it, but I'm not willing to pay for it as an option. For the most part, I'm going to want the refined elegance of a quiet ride. Especially on long drives.

 

Whatever happened to just opening the windows to enjoy the exhaust note?? Or maybe the Pano roof for those with that option


Definitely agree with you about the exhaust being played through the speakers.

 

^^What they said, engine noise thru speakers is IMO. Can't believe BMW (M5, upcoming M3/M4) and Audi are doing this.

 

Well, AFAIK there are different levels of this: It's one thing to pick up induction noise in real time and play it through the speakers (i.e., somewhat silly), it's another thing to play pre-recorded sounds depending on engine load/revs (i.e., utterly pathetic).

6.48 seconds but maybe he has a feather foot .

 

I don't mind actually physically piping the sound in but recordings are, erm. . . dumb.
