I have a 2019 Macan 2.0. has anyone has a APR Plus tune performed?

Got my tune applied today and all I can say is wow, what a joy to drive! This is my second car with an APR tune and the car honestly drives better with the tune than it does stock. Highly recommend to anyone considering.

Just looking for some advice. I have a 19 macan S with pedal commander. What bugs me the most about the macan is the responsiveness. I’m not sure if it’s really turbo lag but between 2-3 gear is where i notice it the most. I usually have set on city +3. Sport +2-3 gets the car going up in speed real quick but still has the same lag.

will Ecu remap/tune fix this? If so, what is the difference between Cobb and APR tune other than being able to reflash map yourself with Cobb?

is the APR tune more agressive?

Thanks in advance!

I got the ultralink to install the tune myself at home for my 2019 Macan S. ultralink was 129 then the tune itself was 899.

To be completely honest, I personally do not feel much of a difference in power... The S is plenty fast and unless you are planning on upgrading the turbo, fuel injectors, meth, HPFP, intercoolers... I would save the money.

I find that when I drive the Macan, I press sport and manually shift the car. I have to admit, once the boost comes on, you feel the punch in acceleration but thats only if you push the gas pedal more aggressively. For the most part, driving around town, the boost barely comes on which is why it is a smooth ride.

I do wish there was more umph on the low end but there is really no fixing that. I was thinking about upgrading the turbo to the GTX3582R which i think is the same as pure turbo's 750 but this would only make the mid/high range even more aggressive.

I have not ecu coded the boost gauge in the dash to 1.6 - 3 bar so I'm only seeing the max out at 15PSI. I wonder if we actually get 20PSI+ with the stage 1 APR ECU tune...

as an update, I reached out to APR to see if they offer a custom tune if I decided to upgrade my turbo. They said unfortunately, they do not. So those of us that already have stage 1 APR tune... that is as good as its going to get.

Pretty frustrated - I bought the Ultralink to flash my '21 Macan base at home only to be hit with the 'can't detect your control unit' error. According to the APR website the base '21 Macan has a tune mapped, but for whatever reason it doesn't recognize my car to start the process.

Perhaps any other '21 owners here with APR Stage 1 that can confirm they got it going My box code is 95B906259S/0002

Thanks!

Thanks @UncleMacan

I just got an email from John at APR, who confirmed they do not have a tune for my specific box code, and they can't provide any sort of timeline for when/if they will. To add a cherry on top of this bad experience, I paid for expedited shipping and am now being told not only will they not refund that, but I'll be responsible for return shipping as well. I can't believe how poor the customer service from APR is. They know which box codes are not covered, yet don't include that information for the buyer prior to purchase. They only list model and year, which clearly doesn't cover the necessary information for the consumer.

It would be really great if they published that information on the product page, or at least did the right thing by their customers and offered to cover return shipping since the issue was created by negligence/information gatekeeping on their part.

This experience has been highly disappointing and honestly I think it has put me off of APR, which is sad, because I've been running their tunes, coil packs, plugs, and other various hardware from them for over a decade. I just thought they were better than that.
