Hi
Please let me know how to Purchase Apple Car Play activation Key and Install.
The Dealer in Bay area quoting $2200.00 dollars for parts and Labor.
I do have Navigation and no Car Play , No Connect or Connect +.

I saw few Porsche Videos and PCM 4.0 has default Connect and Car Play.
How can I report to Porsche complaint , if the Product installed in Macan 2018 Base model is not PCM 4.0? and Porsche Installing Old Products in 2018 Model?

I saw few Posts the activation key for Car Play $648.00 + Labor $180.00

Thanks
Dev

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with @simaservis1108 it was incredibly easy on my 2018 Macan GTS. Sima made it super simple and easy. Cost effective as well compared to the other options. The entire process probably took 30-40 minutes and about 20 minutes of that was in the car with my computer while Sima worked his magic. Awesome guy and couldn't recommend this enough if you don't have CarPlay.

I didn't have a Windows 10 or 11 computer so I went and bought one, then returned it after the install was complete 😁

Took the 2017 Macan S to the dealership to program a new set of LED headlights.

Programing went well; But unfortunately; they did an Auto Software update and in the process deleted Carplay from the PCM that was originally programed by Simaservice1108 2 years ago.

Upon arrival at home, I message him over Whatsapp. It took him no more than 10 minutes to re establish Carplay on the car once again.

I can't thank him enough for the expedited service; and recommend his services to anyone who desires to program CarPlay into their vehicles.

Hey has anyone here done the Macan fullscreen Carplay and/or Android Auto mod on their own? I am looking to see if there's any DIY tutorial I can follow along. I know there are vendors out there who provide it for a fee, but $600 is a lottt of money for something that should have been standard.

As far as my understanding goes, the method used by these vendors to "unlock" that feature exploits a vulnerability in PCM5 (allegedly the same exploit as the first revision Nintendo Switch) to obtain root access and either flip a few bits to activate hidden features (e.g. enable wireless CarPlay in unsupported regions), or inject some code to get fullscreen CarPlay.
The method is not public as some vendors have built a business around it (which is kind of unethical imho, since the involved tools are open-source software).

$600 is not a lot of money when you are able buy a Porsche. Granted, it's odd that it isn't standard. This subject regarding Porsch tech has been beaten to death on this forum. I would've liked Android Auto come with my car but since I'm not overly reliant on my phone I can deal with it. At least there are workarounds for those who must have it.

Sounds like I'll have to cave-in as well! I would have loved to be able to do this on my own though. And yes $600 is nothing on a Porsche, but let's be real, it's as much as what a last gen iPhone would cost, all for resizing something on the screen.

+1 for simaservis...performed the update today after catering a shopping list of necessary parts to perform the install for me and my 23 macan. Maybe a half hour of very easy to follow instructions and I now have full screen carplay. Very reasonably priced. Great to work with. Highly recommend.

New forum member here. I’ve been over on the RL Cayenne side, but just picked up a new to me 2017 Macan base. Car does not Nav or CarPlay, but will need to figure out how to get Carplay installed. I pm’d Sima for help. Did my own install on the Cayenne with Joyeauto board, but don’t want to go that route.
