I contacted simaservis1108 to install Apple CarPlay in my 17’ Macan Turbo today. I felt so bad because my wifi kept cutting out and dropping the connection. With persistence he got it installed and it works seamlessly. I’m happy and I would highly recommend him. Huge thanks!

Hello, everyone. Less than an hour ago, Simaservis1108 installed Apple CarPlay on my 2018 Macan GTS. If I had not seen it with my own eyes, I don't think I would have believed it. The guy is AMAZING!!!! All I needed was a laptop, an ethernet cable, a j5create jue130 USB-to-ethernet adapter, and an SD card. Amazon delivered the adapter to me in a day, had an SD card and an ethernet cable, and I fired up an old Windows laptop I had. We used TeamViewer and I watched in awe as he did his thing. I cannot recommmend him to everyone strongly enough. Below is a pic of the finished product. THANK YOU, SIMASERVIS1108!!!!! And since I am new to the forum, here are a coupe of pics of my new baby -- factory special order color yellow...As you can see, I love all things yellow....

Sima helped me get Apple CarPlay installed in my mom's 2018 Macan earlier this evening. He stayed patient as my wife's old windows laptop slowly loaded up and died in the middle of the install but 45 minutes later CarPlay was running seamlessly. Was surprised at how fast the process was and can't thank Sima enough for staying on so late to get it done. Luckily, I already have CarPlay on my 2017 Cayenne but will definitely keep him in mind for future Porsche's! Highly recommend!

I don't have enough posts to send a PM, sorry to make it public. I just bought a 2017 Macan. I am new to Porsche coming from over 15 years of BMWs (still keep my F10 M5). I am lost on PCM models and technical terms for Porsche, but it seems like my car has CarPlay, because I see a "CarPlay Integration" option in the Phone menu, but it asks for the phone to be connected to the USB port, but when I do it it only recognizes the phone as an iPod. So I guess it is configured but not activated?.
Should it be solved by coding? Could you please do it? Please let me know if possible and how much will it cost.
I live in Chile, South America, so it will need to be done remotely.

PS: in all my BMW the mirror tilts down when putting in reverse, is there a way to code the Macan to do the same?

Another big shout out for Sinisa

Not only a genius when it comes to PCM updates, but an incredibly patient guy too.

We had all sorts of issues updating my PCM4 with CarPlay and 2022 maps.

Absolutely no fault of Sinisa - all down to my initial old laptop, a faulty UGreen adaptor and then seemingly needing a Sandisk Extreme 150Mb/s SD card for the map upload to complete (80mb/s and 100Mb/s cards causing upload error after an hour and 93% completion).

After weeks of trying , and borrowing adaptors and proven downloads from other forum members we got there today - hip hip hurray...



Highly recommended.

Has anyone found a dead-reliable wireless CarPlay connector to work with this?

 

I have a carlinkit III on my 2017 Macan S and also on my 2013 Boxster S. On both it works like a charm.
Ordered them from Amazon.

Several UK people are using the CarLinKit 3 in both Macan and 718s

 

Currently in the market for a Macan and new to the forums so I can't PM yet but would love to learn about getting carplay and PCM unlocked from Sima.

Note: Is it also possible to retrofit Porsche Connect? I want to be able to use the app to remote unlock/lock the car

Looking at used 2018-19 Macans, the dealer is quoting $1500 CarPlay activation costs. Sounds ridiculous, thoughts?

Utilized InnovativeSoft to unlock the CarPlay on my PCM4 Macan this evening. Great communication, and once I had all the necessary pieces it only took about 10-15 minutes. Be sure to shoot them a WhatsApp message saying you're from the forums for a discount code!
