Please let me know how to Purchase Apple Car Play activation Key and Install.
The Dealer in Bay area quoting $2200.00 dollars for parts and Labor.
I do have Navigation and no Car Play , No Connect or Connect +.

I saw few Porsche Videos and PCM 4.0 has default Connect and Car Play.
How can I report to Porsche complaint , if the Product installed in Macan 2018 Base model is not PCM 4.0? and Porsche Installing Old Products in 2018 Model?

I saw few Posts the activation key for Car Play $648.00 + Labor $180.00

2018 Macans do have PCM 4.0 but Connect and CarPlay are not default. I believe CarPlay is part of the Connect option...without that option no CarPlay unless you add it. As I mentioned in a previous post, my 2018 GTS has Nav but NO Voice Control, NO Connect and NO Connect + so I had the local dealer add CarPlay. Cost was what you show above.

Ask your dealer exactly what $2200 is getting you - sounds like they want to add Voice Control and some other stuff - get the detail.

Hello, I was searching the forum and did not find the right answer, so here is the question:
There is a Unichip solution (https://www.unichip-tec.com/h-pd-203.html#skeyword=pcm+4.0&_pp=0_35) for $299 that says that Carplay can be activated with USB adapter remotely.
Also - there is a hardware Carplay module that people order and install and activate.
Also - there is a suncoastparts carplay activation - $899. is it the same as Unichip basically, or different? If yes, how?

Talking about Macan 17 with PCM 4.0

Anyone can clear these things for me, I'd be really appreciated.

Just wanted to share my awesome experience with Simaservis1108 today. He activated Apply Carplay in my 2018 Macan. The whole process took about 45 minutes. I can honestly say that not having Apple Carplay was the only thing about my Macan that I did not like. My Porsche Macan is now complete. Sima is super knowledgeable and very helpful in getting it done.

I had completely given up on getting Carplay after going round and round with my local Porsche dealer. They wanted over $2000 to do the Carplay upgrade and refused without doing the voice stalk. What's even more scarier is that they had never done one.

Sima first tried w my Mac running windows. Not sure but it might have worked if it didn’t have the M1 chip. Waited and got a windows pc. It takes a little to set up, but Sima will walk u thru. CarPlay and 2021 map update on 2018 Macan. Idk if it’s me but the sound appears louder and clearer with more bass using CarPlay. Interested in others experience. Ok, without the map it would be a relatively fast process. But for the few $$ more, u might as well. If u have a built in Ethernet port and SD card slot on the computer, u only need one usb to Ethernet adapter and one Ethernet cable. Anyway, Sima will make sure u are good to go. The Porsche dealerships around me did not even want to do the install for any money. Highly recommend! Kudos Sima!

I can attest that Sima is great at what he does. He updated my 2018 Macan S with Apple CarPlay and 2021 Maps. He could have done Android Auto but I don't use Android.

You aren't wrong about the sound, it sounds great, you should be getting the full quality of your music via USB.

I use Spotify, if you do, make sure your Sound Quality is turned to the highest :) the snare drums in this one song were so crisp it was like it was in person.

Thank you and yes I'm very aware of the value of the search function 😊 FYI this thread did appear on the search I made along with pages of other results. Perhaps this one in particular hadn't been caught and merged yet.
