Over the break I had a chance to install the Dual Android from ACARDASH. For Macan - ACAR the best manufactuer for super car Android screen upgrade
I am coming from a very well performing 12.3 Android, FYT type. Why the dual? Well, the dash in the front area of the passenger IMO is wasted……just decorative. Why not add a screen, after all, this is optionable on all Macan, Cayenne, etc, moving forward, get over it. Screen 2 is for PASSENGER use. As you can see in the pictures you can keep them busy with Live TV, Netflix, Games, whatever you want including side loaded .APK. I like to have RealDash APK up……connected via OBD, what a trip that is. I can swipe it in place of CP onto screen 1, in one second and keep an eye on car metrics.

The install took me at least 4 hours there is a lot of video support for install, with careful removal of the 12.3 as I will be posting for sale shortly. The fit and finish of the Dual is very good, see pictures. Performance I have no issues, I have seen no laginess, I ordered the 8/256. I like being able to move and sort apps. I kind of live on CarPlay, this connects immediately and stays connected. @JerryP just took a major trip, he can comment on his CP experience. BT is 5.0. No Android Auto here to test, sorry.

Audio: outstanding…and loud…. this head unit seems to have more gain….good for me and my setup. It streams Netflix, Prime, live TV, Apple music, Sirius XM APP, whatever you want over 4G, I have a sim loaded. I am utilizing the OEM AM/FM and GPS antennas, no issues. Reverse cam is better than OEM, I have surround and it has selectable views, no issues. Someone opens a door? I see it on the screen, see pictures, nice. The unit has customizable boot screen. @Santirx made the one pictured. You can design your own to match your car. All in all, very happy with this update, TOTALLY changes the interior of the car as you can see. Any question on my experience, or install, let me know. I will get some video up soon as it really deserves this for demonstration.

Video: Crisp and clear, amazingly no lag when dragging these huge full frame screens ! Netflix works awesome.

*Side note. We had a postal strike in Canada recently, my order got caught up in the UPS overload, lost in space........... ACARDASH sent another unit FEDEX, at considerable cost to ensure it made it to me before the holidays. You ever heard of that on ALI??? nope, ACARDASH are not an ALI vendor. Good people, good support. Where is the 2nd unit going now that it finally arrived ???? Stay tuned 😊

Oh, to add, there has been some concern of airflow through the center stack , non issue. I have a video demonstration of this, PLENTY air flow.

This may have already been covered... but has anyone tried the single 12.3 unit from ACAR ? Is it a solid option ?
I currently have a similar 12.3“ unit installed in my Macan. Is pretty good. I believe the ACARDASH model is similar.

Hey Teddis

Got mine installed after a small hiccup but Milo got it all straight lined up for me. I see you have the porsche logo on bootup. I've tried myself but can't seem to change it. I uploaded a jpg, bmp and and a png into the file manager and when I go to the boot up setting and hit the seach icon nothing comes up to choose the new files. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

@Wpg
Hey,
Use a smaller USB, like 4 ,8, 16Gig. Do not use SANDISK stick.

Formatted to FAT32

Curious, what was your install hiccup ?

How is your air flow below the screen?
I don't notice any difference on the air flow. It seems pretty normal.

On another note the instructions to change the boot logo on the original 12.3 inch done in the santrix video didn't work. The file manager app doesn't appear to be set up the same way and looked in every folder and could not find where the android logo are stored. Milo mentioned he would provide instructions via a video and the files required so hopefully that will come soon. For some reason the android startup just seems wrong to me.

I have a 991.1 gt3rs and I would definitely upgrade to the acardash setup if they ever expanded their lineup of products to include the 991.

Read all the previous posts of this thread. I had the same issue and few people explain the process.
I don’t think it s the same as the old setup from santirx video.
you have to simply go to the boot image option and copy from that menu the right image (provided by santirx in a previous post)
