I have this week to decide whether to go with 21” Sport Classic or Turbo design on my GTS Black (Non Metallic). My order will be delivered next week.

Im 50/50 between the two.. there is no cost impact to me, whichever i choose. A black 21” Spyder Wheel would be my choice if it exist.

I like to Turbo design but its to blingy.. and more common? Classic black colour is nice but the rather too plain... i know its down to personal aesthetic preference.., just wondering what you guys think?

One more alternative. I think the platinum satin sport classics look great on a black Macan.

I had sport classics on my first Macan and have Turbo’s on my second. Agree that the 21” wheels make the car look great. The sport classics are easy to clean and the turbos are not but look great when clean! Either is a great option

I had both . Loved the sport classic platinum on the day I bought the car and hated then the day i traded it in . Still dislike them . The platinum looks greeat in the sun but at night it was dismal looking. The simple design became too simple for me . I only had the car 6 months . All 3 of my others had Turbo design .. love them .

A few pics of cars past and present .. BTW my next one is getting them too.

I personally like the look of both and currently have the turbo rims on my 17 macan and had them on my 15 911. They are a little eye catching without being overtly flashy. Mine are partially black and show brake dust. These rims are AWFUL to clean. So many nooks and crannies. Definitely requires dedicated wheel cleaning brushes. The sport classics look to be very easy to clean. If you are on the fence, go with the easier to maintain option. I will be getting sport classics as my winter wheels.

When I ordered my GTS a few years back I can't tell you how many times I changed my order going back and forth between the stock 20" spyders and the 21" Sport classics. I finally made up my mind and stuck with the stock spyders.

I factored in things like I live in a City with a too many potholes, protection when parking is a bit better with the spyders, etc. The 20's have a bit more sidewall for parking and curb rash ( still your going to have to be careful regardless of size rim you choose).

I have never driven a Macan with 21" wheels so I cannot comment on ride comfort but from the posts I have read here on the forum it does not seem like a huge issue for most of you folks, especially those with the air suspension.

Another factor is on a GTS this option is reasonable too (at least it was at the time I ordered it) so this is my opinion for what it's worth:

If I ordered a car today I would go for the 21" sport classics hands down. They belong on a Porsche because of the classic look and how they fill the wheel rims. The turbo wheels are nice too and would be my second choice.

The spyders are a bit of a pain to clean but you get used to it and when they get dirty you barely notice it against the satin black. I also don't go too crazy cleaning them because after a few miles of driving the brake dust returns. I have used some sealers but was not impressed with them. I can't imagine having the 20"spyders painted in white or any light color. They would be a nightmare to keep clean! Hope this helps make your decision.

I am in the exact same boat on all factors! Having cheaper to replace all seasons on my daily all weather driver was a factor for me in going with the 20"s too. I wish the Sport Design ones came in black. But if between Turbos or Sport Classics, the SCs all the way for the cleaning factor alone! Also, they are just sportier looking and fit the GTS. If it's a Turbo with silver window trim and more traditional interior color, then the Turbo wheels are good fit.

Like most decisions regarding Porsche options, it is often a matter of personal preference and taste. I do not think you can make a bad decision. I opted for the 21” classics for both our 2015 S and 2017 GTS, because they remind me of our 81 wide body 911 Cab and 88 911 Cab. They are so easy to clean and the red calibers really “pop” against the white body and our carbon black blades. I was just saying to my wife tonight, that this is look that will still be eye popping for many years. In keeping with the Porsche design principles, the look is very sporty. I guess that is why they are called classic wheels!

Lastly, I burned out on stylish honeycomb wheels that need a tooth brush to clean long ago!

Agreed. My incoming CPO Macan S has black Sport Classics for summer and I'm picking up a set of 20" black RS Spyder replicas for winter duty with Michelin winter tires. Can't wait to pick it up on Saturday! :D
