Tracking the Delivery of your baby

If your car has to cross an ocean to get to you, I believe this is a way to track delivery (taken from the pieces I could put together). It should work for US and Canada. Not sure what the Australian lines are.

Once your spec is firm, your dealer should give you a car build schedule. Find the date of the German exit from their port, probably Emden. You probably want to get an updated schedule as the date gets closer. Schedules can change and what you have in January could be different in a couple of months.

Go here. On the right side select your trade route (e.g., USA).

For USA and, I think, Canada, select VW Logistics

A PDF schedule will come up. Ask your dealer for the boat name. Look at the schedule column for the date that boat leaves the dock. For example, today it looks like the Gracious Ace leaves Emden 1/30 and docks in Halifax Canada and then RI. US west coast cars might go to Houston.

Go here. While the ship is near land, you can track it. Not sure how to track it in the open ocean because it uses a different system. There are also apps for smart phones that can track it.

Once the ship is back near land, you can track it until it docks.

Once PDI is done, you can start looking at all the car haulers on the road near you and hope you car is on one of them :)

I hope this helps somebody interested in tracking delivery of their car (which is different from tracking their car ;).

You can also just google this and find lots of entries where people tracked their delivery.

edit: 21 Nov 2022. my.porsche.com might be able to allow some form of tracking

While this isnt overly 'new', it is a fun way to see updates!
Mine is about to be loaded onto the ship. Should be in my hands in the next 30-40 days or so!
Congrats on your GTS. Please post pics once it arrives~
Okay now my Macan shows it will get on a ship 2 weeks later although it's sitting at the German port since yday :\
LOL, mine has been in port awaiting shipping since Feb 22. Now, I dont know if the updates are delayed & havent been updated yet or if it truly is still waiting in fkn port since Feb 22. Ive emailed my SA today & asked for a screenshot from his end which should provide better clarity on this. I should have by end of day today.

For anyone that went straight from Emden to Halifax..... Can you let me know if your boat took the same route that mine (Violet Ace) is taking? Hes going south of the Azores (Red line) when I would figure he would take the more direct (orange line). Then again, im probably not taking into account for the curvature of the earth :). Any help is appreciated. At this rate, hes going to be 1-2 days late to Halifax! He was supposed to arrive on the 18th, but it looks like a strange route for some reason.... Any thoughts/help/past experience is appreciated.

Thank you @profil3232
Do you have a pic of the full voyage route?
@Tony123 You should check w/ your SA to see if its acutally on the boat (and the name of the boat). My porsche website/app said im waiting at port since Feb 22nd (and it still says that now) BUT Im actually on the Violet Ace and am in the middle of the Atlantic right now. The porsche website/app is not always 'up to date'. Hopefully you find a surprise from your SA.
@profil3232 Which dealer are you out of? My GTS is 240 nautical miles away from Halifax now! Should be there late tonight & in Toronto in 10 days or so but I wont P/U until April 13th

Do you know how long it took to get from Halifax to your dealer? Which day did your ship dock in Halifax?
Seems to me, it takes about 10-12 days to get from Halifax to Toronto by the looks of some other ppl, however this was Q2/Q3 last year, so maybe things are quicker now as C19/supply chain issues have cleared up for the mostpart... I think.
Violet Ace got to port yesterday and FINALLY my Porsche app/website updated to say that it had reached the port of entry (after only updating that it had left Emden 10 days after it had done so).

Today I was surprised to find another update that it had got onto the train & is on its way to my dealer.
REALLY quick turnaround w/ less than 24 hours sitting in Halifax Autoport which is awesome. Halifax had 3 big car carriers arrive and Violet Ace was the first to unload, so that probably worked in my favor as well. Car should be in Toronto in the next 10 days.
Exciting times.

Well... car showed up at the dealer Friday afternoon. They PDI'd it and detailed it yesterday, I took delivery right before the dealer closed for the weekend last night. The shipping company damaged all 4 wheels so the dealer is going to get me a new set... but other than that, am/was happy. Cruised around a little last night, really, really like it!

This morning on my way to coffee, dash lit up like a Christmas tree.... transmission fault, PSM fault, engine fault. Transmission went into neutral while driving and that was it. Waited 2 hours for flatbed tow from roadside assistance, had to uber to a hotel. Now I'm stuck at a hotel with no transportation.

If this isn't something they can rectify right away I'll just book a flight home and hopefully Porsche will reimburse me to get home, and eventually to get back up here (won't be able to for a few weeks) to try again to drive it home.

Holy ****... That hurts my heart, esp with 119km on the **** car. You should post a new thread about this so we can all follow along to what happens. Not everyone looks in this thread. Please keep us updated and best of luck.. This should NOT be happening.
