So your dealer would have been more than 400% more! I understand that a dealer has to make a huge investment in equipment, but I'm sorry, that's just plain greed, and it really irks me to see unsuspecting people get taken advantage of. So I guess the free loaner car was not worth $700 to you?
Greed indeed and no the loaner was not! :| They really loved me after the rating and comments I posted on the feedback form received from PNA. I had a discussion with the Servcie Manager and at least now runs service "specials" from time to time but still more than my indi shop charges.
Hello fellow Macan-ers. I am coming up on my 2 yr service appointment, and I'm curious how important it is to have this done at a Porsche dealer vs a good non-dealer service center. I'm not having any issues with the car, just need the oil changed and all the basics checked, as is on the schedule for the 2 yr maintenance service.
I don't live very close to a dealership, and taking 4 hours to drive to/from and wait for service isn't something I'm looking forward to. If the general consensus is that it is extremely important, I will do it. Just wanted to see what everyone else thinks.

Four hours ? I would explain that to them . They might offer a flat bed to take the car up and back . Otherwise I'd request. full checklist and document it at a reputable shop locally.

Yeah, it's just over an hour to dealership I got it from, plus the time to service, so I'd have to book off about 4 hours. I have no issue making arrangements at a dealership for a repair, but I just need the oil changed.

My dealership will provide a loaner car . Champion (one hour north ) would send a flatbed if I selected a distance routine service appointment . I was under the impression it took 4 hours just to get there . Even my local dealership takes me 25 minutes in rush hour so any appointment means a time demand of some sort.
Absolutely no need to pay wild dealer prices for service. Any competent garage can do this for you. I saved more than 50% versus what the dealer quoted. Regular routine maintenance on a Macan does not require any unusual knowledge or tools, despite that your dealer might infer otherwise.
