Selling PA car out of state

Howdy Macan Forum,

I am selling a car (not my Macan!) and it's looking like it will go out of state. How have folks handled payment and the title process in similar circumstances where the buyer and seller never physically meet?

Happy to hear from both Pennsylvania and non-PA residents. Thanks in advance!!

When I've bought a car that I wasn't able to do face to face, I used an escrow service. Has a cost associated with it, but it's the safest.

There are plenty of options out there and a lot of it depends on if you have a lien. I'd make sure that you get paid via wire transfer, or certified check - I think that's the most important bit.
No lien here. Good information on the payment method. How did you handle title transfer?

I'd check with my insurance agent. Chances are the insurance company will have an other agent in the state that it is going to that could facilitate the transfer of title for you.
I'd recommend that once you've been paid, you mail the title. It can be as simple as that.
My friend just bought my car from me, he's in PA. I signed title, entered his data and sent it to him via USPS. He sent me the money via bofa (zelle). He'll take the docs and will go to DMV to register the car and then will come to me to pick up the car with his plates.
Thanks everyone for this guidance!
