My Turbo was almost $90k, and a comparable loaded S would have cost me low 80's, about 8k less. When spending this kind of money the last thing I wanted was buyers remorse for not stepping up to the Turbo, especially when the delta (for me) was ~10%. I know myself, I felt and heard the difference between the two cars and I would have regrets and be trading up in less than one year. Others on this forum have already reported the same regret.

It also comes down to your expectations for the car, and what will satisfy you. I have owned many high performance cars and for me, the S would simply not be enough power to keep me happy. For each his own as they say, but be sure to measure thrice and cut once :)

Lucky! All the options I wanted were not standard in the Turbo, and even some that are straight up NOT included. For example, the side blades, I really like the contrast, in the Turbo you gotta pay for the carbon fiber. so I think my turbo build would have ended up costing more than the initial 22k premium. If it had been under 10k like yours, it would have been turbo all the way.

I had Porsche entry in original build until I found out there is no push button start you have to leave the key in the ignition.

I had brushed lighted door sills also and took it out but Im on the fence with that 1. I still have plenty of time to tinker with the build. Does anyone have any thoughts about that option or the tinted tail lights option?

I'm not trying to scrimp and save on the build I just tried to target key performance items like PASM +AS and aesthetic options (21 Turbos) and some safety features as well like LCA. My commute is only 11 miles so I never use cruise. If I traveled alot I would get adaptive cruise for sure. I looked through the "what would you change thread" and I don't think I'm missing anything huge that people say is a must have.

I did plug in premium + pack as others had mentioned I had overlap, but the build came out to $1400 more. I did get Porsche entry and pano for that extra 1400 but I don't want either feature. Again I welcome any and all feedback, much appreciated...
@jrjunior31 Just want to make sure you are clear. Entry and Drive does NOT require you to put the key in. It comes with a "Dummy" key that sits in that position, and you turn it to start the car. The actual key stays in your pocket (or where you keep it). So it is essentially the same as a push button start, and provides all the benefits of similar keyless systems.

Sill plates can be added later if you really want them.

ACC is awesome in traffic.

Most have said the shielding for the Pano is very effective. YMMV compared to your previous vehicle.

Entry key - Yes thank you I saw the dummy key set up on test drive. My fear is someone sees the dummy key in the ignition and breaks my window. I had my Q broken into recently in broad daylight so this may just be me being paranoid...

Sill Plates - SA said "Macan S" logo steel sills come standard I think I'm fine w this for now

ACC - this looks really cool I need to read up on here about it I'm strongly considering adding this

Pano - I want to try this car without it I think. I love the airiness of it but rarely opened it and didn't like it otherwise. Is headliner black on a black interior does anyone know? If it is I may need to get pano just for the light. Pano set up in Macan seemed almost identical to Q5. The power sun shade is very flimsy and does not block any heat. I would definately have to tint the roof again.

21 turbo vs 20 SD - I may drop to 20 in SD wheel and save 2 K and put that towards ACC. I wish I could see the 20 vs 21 on a lot. Not happening, there's no Macans anywhere! As peoples custom builds roll in hopefully I can compare the wheels. SA said both look good. I've seen both wheels but not on the Macan IRL.

Haha, too excited from seeing so many Macans. Tried to cut that down a little sorry...

It will drive you crazy until you actually get your Macan. Hang in there because the wait is well worth it! :D

Havent really looked into too many other vehicles, maybe you have a point. I have always wanted a Porsche though and I have a 3 year old so this or the Cayenne is a good size. I have really enjoyed my Q5 3.2 it is a perfect combo of sport/utility/luxury at a reasonable price. But I've owned it 4 years and I usually start getting ancy around then. The Macan feels really tight after being in a Q but it is of course much more of a sports car. What other vehicles would you look at?

SQ5 since you already have the slower version and seem to be happy with it but just want a new vehicle. It won't be as nice as a Macan but fairly close and cheaper. ;)

Headliner and shade are all black with the black interior. Roller shade has narrow strip of matte aluminum (silver) at front. Unlike the Q5, with the shade closed you really feel like it's a closed roof vehicle (not much light penetration).
I have SD 20's and really like this design. Yes, the 21's are sick, but it's a big price jump and the 20s were noticeably more forgiving than the 21s I test drove. If you get AS and can ride lower, even better. These rims are easy to clean and they look particularly good at the back, where there is a concave/dished effect.

Keyless entry - never considered it.

ACC - If your daily commute is extensive (like a NY/NJ commute) people seem to like it. I personally don't want my car making random decisions for me

Pano - love it. It is my wife's car, and she will rarely open it. I open it (and push the Sport button) as my first move when getting in the car. It is great with almost no wind buffeting.

Wheels - like the 20's (I got the Spyders) Look great particularly with AS in low mode.

I could not agree more. Went in for an S and quickly realized the Turbo was for me. spent 93K but expect smiles for years.

I thought I would like my Evoque for a long time but got tired of it. Loved the looks but the 4 cylinder did not cut it. Took a nice bath on that car. I am going for "best in class" and think I hit it this time!

Thx again for all the helpful comments, My order is placed!

Macan S
Jet Black / Chrome surround
Premium Package Plus
14-way partial Leather Package Black
Porsche Crest headrests (Front)
Carbon Interior Package
21" 911 Turbos - Colored Porsche caps
Painted side blades
Painted rear fascia
PASM + AS
LCA
3 - Zone Climate
Comfort Lighting Package
Smoking Package

Price - 69,360

Adding PP+ got me pano and keyless for 1400 more than my original build. They are roughly 2500 as stand alone options. Thx to all for looking over my spec and recommending this.

I find it ridiculous to have to pay 1200 to paint the plastic blades and the rear fascia, they should be painted already. I will never understand why they are not. At least I have Flat Black so it mitigates it a little. For Metallic paint its a total scam. SA told me don't paint blades on a black car you wont see them but I haven't been able to view a black Macan IRL so I painted them just to be safe. To say the blades cheapen the look of the car would be an understatement. In pics I didn't totally hate them, IRL I thought they looked horrendous. I'm also glad I realized at the 11th hour I could paint the rear fascia. There was something bothering me about the unfinished look of the rear fascia on the S for awhile and finaly I realized after looking at a million pics it just needs paint like on the turbo.

IMO the blades look good on lighter cars but the SD side skirts are a must (they're painted and more dynamically shaped), especially since without them the profile will look a bit uneven with the painted rear.

Yes definately should have said that differently didn't mean to go on a rant. I know a lot of people like them. I miss Boston I was just on the Cape for 2 weeks. LA feels like it's a million miles away...

I'm indifferent with the rear blades . Keep in mind that prior to Porsche branching out with SUV and sedans most of the sports cars are low . I have a plastic blade on my 911 Turbo which i replaced with a beautiful painted Techart lip . I can't even count how many times I have had to touch it up or repaint it because its that easy to scrape .(see pic below) Finally I could not take it anymore and spent 12 grand to get a KW coilover noselift suspension . I still scraped it !! Forgot to raise it one time and bam!! I am not alone . Most 911 Turbo owners know this issue quite well.
At this point I welcome plastic.

Hi all,

I am shopping for a 2023 GTS. Does anyone have any experience with sales in Rusnak Porsche in Pasadena CA? My indie shop specifically recommended I NOT use them for some issues they thought a dealership should handle (one under warranty and one they said I should try to fight to get at least partial coverage for) and sent me to Beverly Hills instead. Basically said the shop at Beverly Hills would be more willing to work with me.

Seeing what people's thoughts were on their sales dept, willingness to negotiate price (I am unwilling to pay over MSRP), etc.

Thanks!

They have an allocation but it's a bit of haul for me compared to any of the other three in the area (Pasadena, Downtown, Beverly Hills)
It's been over 5 years, and things may be different now, but based on the past experiences of a couple of my friends, Pasadena would be last on my list. Have personally had very good experiences with Circle.
