Part 1.) I'll be ordering an S this week. Wanted to update you guys on some info I got today. Bev Hills had a demo Macan with just the standard CDR+ and no PCM so I had the SA test some of the functions people (including myself) were wondering about without navigation module.

1. Smart phone streams music through Bluetooth without being plugged in anywhere. The song menu comes up if phone is plugged in but I dont believe it does through bluetooth. Don't remember 100% on this part.
2. Trip Odometer details and functions work on 7 inch screen
3. Cooling system settings were accessible on 7 inch screen
4. Anything that is viewable on big screen is also available on the instrument cluster screen from everything ive heard also

Seems like you could get away with CDR+ and cover PASM w AS which I have done alot of research on. I've seen all the standard non-AS Macans sitting at normal height and its not as aggressive looking as the lower stance created with the AS. Then when you factor in how much AS i.c.w PASM adds to performance characteristics it's a no brainer for me at this point.

Part 2.) This demo Macan had 2 black holes but they dont look bad at all if anyone is worried that they didnt spec 3 zone climate or smoking pack. The front bin is a perfect fit for iphone 6 but not sure about the 6+ or Galaxy. I saw the smoking pack cover also and iphone 5 will not fit inside with the cover open.

As far as the 3 zone climate hole its not super noticeable. This cabin is not big at all, my feeling is the cooling will not be drastically increased by vents here. The back seat is extremely tight, it's fine for kids but adults over 5/9 5/10 are prob not going to be in your back seat too often so people wont even notice it.

In the pic it looks a little rental car-ish, but when I first saw it I thought it was fine, I was expecting something worse. The cockpit is stunning, with or without the vents so not too big a deal.

Part 3.) Regarding pic below of PASM in US configurator 2D. I select 14 or 18 way seats middle option (2 tone red/black partial leather seats with leather package) and this pic comes up with red seat bottom inserts and black side bolsters with red stitching. Similar to SQ5 red/black set up. He checked his 3D configurator that is more accurate and it showed ALL red seats no black side bolsters. He then checked and said the set up from PASM pic may be available at a later point. When the US and Europe deliveries of 2 tone partial leather w leather package come in it will be nice to finally see how it looks.

OK I read the thread .

You do sound excited by looking at the cars . My opinion is simply an opinion .
I feel that a luxury sport SUV or sedan ought to have some comfort amenities . If we were discussing a Cayman it's easier to give up things like power seats , full leather and an adequate sound system.

I am 5'9 and when I sat in a Macan before I ordered the car I moved the front drivers seat to my needs and then sat in the back seat . I fit perfectly . (see photo below) .

The non smoking package is not a big deal . I chose the smoking package (I am a non smoker) partially because it's free . Porsche rarely gives anything for free . Secondly if I ever sell the car (as much as I might cringe at anyone smoking in it) I feel the option allows the car to be open to anyone to buy . A smoker would have to retrofit it .

The 3 zone I forgot. I wish I had it even though my rear seats are not used often.

The seats -- I had 14 way on my former Cayenne and have 18 way on my Macan . I prefer the 18 way . This car has more sport capability and it's a nice touch to feel like I am seated in a performance vehicle . Yet they are very comfortable !! All the seats are good but these are my favorite.

PASM and AS -- Agree with you !! I like them !!

Agate - I think you revised the post but I recall reading that you like the car to match the surroundings in which it drives . I agree . A few years ago on another forum I recall this thread where the cars look absolutely beautiful with the lighting and archetecture of this region but would look totally different in a brighter and warmer climate setting (with different archetecture and landscape) .

So no 2-tone interiors have been shipped to the States yet? Is there an ETA when we'll finally see pictures? The configurator picture is horrible.
My Garnet Red/Black 2-tone interior is on a boat that is due into San Diego on Oct. 4.

Some real images from images.google.com:

Yes the full leather garnet/black pics are out there however not as nice as those shots thank you for posting those. I have not seen any of the partial leather 2 tone combos and neither have any of the dealers. I think these colors were not available for order in early 14 and now I've heard if you selected 2 tone partial leather option it may cause a delay in your build. I think some of the 2 tone partials are about the ground though pics hopefully will be available within a few weeks...

- Totally agree about the amenities. I have a working spec at the moment on the S and its hovering around 69K and I have no nav and no pan roof and only the partial leather. I will be ordering the 3 zone actually after thinking about it more. Someone said they never used this empty space at all so I guess it may be a bit useless and the vents look richer and obviously perform a function. Crazy that's it 550 to put a couple plastic vents there but this is the way luxury cars are these days, they hammer you for every little thing.

- I sat in the 18 way and the 14. I like the 18 better and they also look sportier. The only thing is the side bolsters were really stiff and I noticed it was uncomfortable to get out of and I'm 6/2. It prob just takes a little getting used to, but I thought my wife would hate them (she is 5/1), so i opted for the 14 way.

- AS - If you have a pic of your car in low setting would you mind posting? I saw a JBM with 21 turbos on this site with AS, and in the pic there is still noticeable wheel gap, and the poster mentioned he wished it would go lower. How is your wheel gap?

- Agate looked great at night but in bright sun it was a little boring, with too much brown coming in for my liking. I saw a ton of pics also where it looked great in lower light but not as good in bright sun. Some people who lived with the color for a while seemed to like it but were not in love with it. The Agate Porsche was sitting next to a Meteor Gray 911 which was a much nicer gray for my money. I would have strongly considered ordering that color if it was available. I ended up opting for JBM.

- Ruby Red is not for me but I've never owned a red car, I know many people who love red. Color is so personal, as many people allude to constantly on here, and other forums as well.

I want the stainless skid plate on the back only but US configurator will not allow me this option. Have not seen the aprons in person but in the pics I love the back stainless plate but not the front plate. Maybe I can add the back 1 aftermarket.

@jrjunior31 I suggest you compare changing to Premium Plus option pack and see how that looks. You have a lot of overlap.

I bought a CS from BH Porsche and my Macan from Rusnak Thousand Oaks. Rusnak was a much better experience. It seems BH gets a lot of wanna bees and Rusnak gets more Porsche brand loyal folks. I found the SA knowledge level of the cars superior at Rusnak which would make sense if my assessment of the two dealerships is the case!

Adam, Sales Manager, Rusnak is a good guy. Very much not the "car sales manager" but a class act.

Great tip on Rusnak thank you. Bought an Audi from Rusnak Pasadena was a good experience great price. They are saying 4/5 months for Macan order. Crazy.
