Going to look/drive an MB GLC43 mainly for size comparo to the Macan GTS but waiting until the AMG version is out later or just order a '24 Macan GTS, either one for a Spring '24 delivery. That said any thoughts on an Audi to consider as the current 2022 XC60 has been pleasant (minus software update drama) but yearning to get back into a P car so .....

before I decided on a 2023GTS, I had tried out the MB GLC, SQ5, Grecale M.

The only one that I thought drove just as well (and had a better interior) was the Grecale. The others felt big and too "high" for my taste. Sticking a powerful engine in + firm suspension didn't transform those cars into something that I felt was enjoyable to drive. Sure, they are powerful, especially in a straight line (so is a Tesla).

Macan, for some reason, whichever model you pick, does provide you with that excitement and confidence when going through the twisties. Now granted, this is all in comparison with this class of vehicles. Relative to your previous CGTS, there's no comparison (but the MGTS is a lot more comfortable than the CGTS).

I remember when I had my 981 and tried out the Macan, I was like... yea.., not the same thing. The only reason why I bring it up is because there are reviewers who do say the Macan is a Cayman but with 4 doors - I disagree.

But, if you need the utility and space - and you are comparing like for like - then I would pick the Macan (any version) every time.

And to finish the thought on the Grecale - too expensive, still concerned about its reliability and definitely going to hate the depreciation. In fact, one of the floor models had an uneven panel gap.... So there you go.

The driving experience on the SQ5 is the worst in class. The last GLC43 and 63 were pretty good especially the 63 but the next gen will be with the 2.0L 4 cyl that will decrease enjoyment and long term reliability due to the high stress on that engine. The best Macan GTS alternative right now would be the X3 M40i or X3M. I've had the M40i and it was actually smoother for D2D but wasn't as fun to drive. X3M would actually give you better performance but I've heard the suspension is a tad stiff

Only drove an AMG GLE53 as I dropped my Trek off @ the shop beforehand & was reminded that the Macan, AMG GLCA & C would be very tight when I had to haul it (sorta rare) so the GLE53 get's the nod if I go MB AMG. That said my current XC60 is about the right size, the Cayenne is not in the mix & the MB tech on the GLE53 was very appealing so .........

The AMG is a lovely vehicle and the build quality nearly matches the Macan S but driving dynamics is sooo much better on the Macan S.
I would go for the Macan S or even the GTS which skews the comparison from a price point of view - and never look back. Love my Macan S and it is a new car after the break in period is over and the rpm can increase a over 4,200.
