Hi, I feel something is up with my delivery. I posted in the Aus delivery thread and the suggestion was to call Porsche Australia and ask about transit damage, which I did, and there definitely is none. It's also not waiting for any parts.

So, I'd love to hear from others about the timing of your deliveries please relative to the Porsche tracking. You can see my tracking indicates it arrived at my autorised dealer on 2nd May. How long after this date did you actually receive your car. Bonus points if you're in Tasmania. Also please share the year of your delivery as well. The Porsche Centre down here was taken over by a monopoly group in the past year or two.

I messaged them on the 4th May and they rang back confused stating should be "2-3 weeks you should have it by the end of the month". Weird statement given they have the car in theory.

I waited 2 weeks before losing my mind and calling Porsche Australia to see if it had transit damage. Nope. And they said "it's definitely been handed over". They did contact the dealer and rang me back saying they were "hoping for next week". Which did not happen. That was last week.

This week they rang back kind of excitedly "we have your car, hoping for next week. The tracking wasn't accurate we only just received it. You should have it by the end of the month". Weird statemnt AGAIN. Twice I've heard this end of the month weirdness.

My parents actually went into the dealer today as my dad also has a Porsche (haha) and knows one of them. My mum rang me excitedly to say "hey we sat down with them and they said they have the car and it's all fine and they sasid you'll have it by the end of the month". What is this end of the month ****?!

I'm super bummed. I'm super angry. I'm super disappointed. Someone or something, somewhere, has messed up. It might just be that the owning business of the Porsche Centre Hobart (localmotorgroup.com.au) who own almost every brand of car sold in the state, not joking, are just so grossly incompetent that they do something in Devonport where the cars land and just hold onto them barely getting through the load.

I would love to hear others experiences please and how long from "dealer has the car" in the app to actually receiving it please.

THanks so much, really appreciate it. The info will help fuel my rage at them. I've been SO SO SO nice so far. I really have. ANd that's me I hate confrontations and I'm very empathetic. But this has done a number on me and I'm ready to stand up for myself, if I can with this, haha.

THanks

Boat docked 29/9, arrived at dealer 3/10 and delivery 12/10 but I could have had it a day earlier even though that included getting the front windows tinted. In WA (ignore the flag if it is showing Germany - I’m there at present). I was happy with that timeframe but yours does seem to be dragging on…
what you are saying doesn’t make any sense. “Car is here, it is fine. You will have it in two weeks.m WHAT? Your parents didn’t bother to ask them to show the car? Asking why they hold for another two weeks? What are they working on? If you talk SA face to face, there is no way the SA would answer like a robot.

The extended delivery time may fall down to a couple of dealership issues such as shortage of car detailing staff, or a large number of cars have arrived at dealership from your car transport vessel, hence, an extension in the time they take to prepare the car for delivery. The post-covid world continues...and this is now the new normal for all of us.

I think what they mean by “we have it” is that their business has it but the showroom and Porsche front is relatively small and I also cannot find where the service area is for their cars. It looks like servicing is offsite and assume it’s a bulk servicing kind of place.

The parent company who owns the Porsche Centre also owns alpha, Audi, bmw, ford, gwm, Honda, Isuzu, jeep, Kia, Mazda, merc, mini, Mitsubishi, mg, Nissan, Peugeot, polestar, Renault, Subaru, Toyota, Volvo and vw. Feels like a poorly run dirty corp who’ve done something to maximise profits but it also takes a lot longer to sort their car imports.

I reread my post and it does unfortunately sound quite amusing. I am pretty fed up about it. Oh well, it’ll be next week or the week after but certainly by the end of June. Oh I mean May 🤪

From my experience, some dealership allow their sales associates be more independent and have some autonomy in their sales tactic to boost dealership relationship with customer, so the SA could disclose some info to their customer, but seems yours been instructed ack like dumb robots, informing their customers the least possible to avoid any headaches or your SA is just a least desired to his job. I get annoyed by this kind of behavior as I am a medical professional, always expected to be in our greatest efforts in terms of patient care. One giant corp can operate dealership for almost every personal vehicle manufacturer? That sounds crazy as it is a pire monopoly LOL
Could be waiting for parts.....like the bose amplifier or something else. Porsche builds with what they have and then ships the rest of the parts to the dealer parts when they can. My macan sat for a week waiting for the bose amplifier...others have waited much longer for the part to arrive so the dealer can actually deliver the car.

THis is exactly what is frustrating me. In my job, and I feel the reason I'm as successful as I am (in IT) is that I think about the comms that a project person needs, and really try to communicate the right things in the right way. My value is helping other people to think about this on projects. I really see the value in great and open communication and the benefit it has. And this guy is just for whatever reason talking in half truths and lies to me and I pick up on this stuff easily.

I have confirmed from Porsche Australia that it's not waiting for anything, which is good in some ways. At least I'm only at the mercy of it all getting organised.
The Porsche website doesnt update once the shipping date slips. Mine still shows May 16th as the date to the dealer. This was correct, until the ship has been sitting off the coast of Pt Kembla waiting to dock for almost 3weeks now. At least I can follow the ship its on, and once its landed ill expect it to be within a week until its ready to correct.
Ahh yep interesting. Still a slightly different situation because I saw the Oslo dock in Melb and leave for Kembla back on the 23rd April. So I knew my car was on land. The other difference is that the Porsche tracking actually updated to specifically say the dealer had it, not that it was an estimated date. And it updated a good 1.5 weeks ahead of schedule.

So from the 2nd May when it updated to today is how long it took me to get the car. Yes, I’m literally 5 mins walk from the Porsche centre to pick it up now 😁🎉🥳🍾

It’s an agonising wait to be sure but I guess looking back it’s a relatively short period of time and it does pass eventually 😛

Good luck!!
