My GTS has made it to my dealer getting detailed and having a radar installed. I could of picked it up Friday but I can't get there. So I will have it Monday. Dealer said this is the first 2020 GTS in NYC. Sent me a few pics of it from their showroom. Can't wait.
Looks sweet! So you must have it by now, spill the beans! How do you like it?

I see that our ship, the Columbia Highway keeps having to wait before reaching ports recently; as happened at Jacksonville, they’ve pushed the Houston ETA back 2 days, until Sunday, though I’m sure it would still be in position to arrive Friday.

Not getting it until Monday. I can't wait to drive it. I will let you know my impressions once I get that chance. It took a few days for my car to clear customs. The whole country is on delay still.

Got it; thought you meant you could’ve gotten it this past Friday. Soon enough...

Well, the Columbia Highway docked in Houston last night; so for those of us waiting for our cars off that ship and slated to be distributed via Houston, the clock is now running. We’ll see how the holiday weekend plays into it, but I assume my car will probably be at the dealer in Chicago by Wednesday the 8th, barring any customs delays...

So did you get it yet??

for those waiting for cars leaving the port in Houston, my SA tells me mine left today, and should be in Chicago Thursday or Friday.
Pick it up Thursday afternoon. Glad to see you’ll get yours that fast. It took 3 weeks to get mine from port to Toronto.

Nice! after the long wait, I'm sure you can handle the next 24 hrs easily ;)
I will have to content myself with a few photos from the dealer for a while, as I'm out of town in the NY state countryside for a few weeks, and other than the impending arrival of the Macan, I have no real desire to rush back to Chicago, even temporarily.

Glad to see your car made it!!

Mine left Emden on June 26, will arrive in Davisville, RI on July 5th, then Jacksonville around 7/10, and then I'm scheduled for the Atlanta PEC on August 12th. The PEC staff was great, and suggested around 15 dates, I selected my top 3, and got my first choice....

With rapidly rising COVID cases in the south, however, I'm now wondering if I should: 1. Fly to Atlanta for the PEC and drive back, or 2) cancel the scheduled PEC pickup, and just have the car shipped to Chicago... still about 6 weeks out, so will wait and see how things develop....

@ John Y: are you getting a protective film coat? If you have any suggestions for a good detailing outfit here in Chicago, that would be great!

Now the hard part: the countdown....lol

Yeah, the situation is pretty troubling, and who knows how long the trend will continue in that direction; when do you have to let them know whether you want to go forward in Atlanta, or just have it delivered normally, in Chicago?

Which dealer, by the way? I’ll be getting mine from Loeber - hope to have some pics tomorrow or Friday.

yeah, I’m sure I’ll be getting some partial PPF, much as I hate to bite the bullet yet again, but that’s more a reflection of the car flipper I’ve become in the past 3 years, than anything else. I’ll definitely be going to Chicago Auto Pros; they’re my go-to guys for anything related to auto aesthetics, and I strongly recommend them. I go to true or Glenview location as it’s closest to me, I think their larger shop is in Lombard.

I don't have a hard deadline on when I can back out of the PEC trip. Will clarify with my SA...The correspondence from PEC asks routine health screening questions, and they encourage you to reschedule if sick, etc. I suppose things will be in flux. My guess is they will be open to shipping it out, but I'm gonna get clarification on this...One thing I did notice is that for the 2021 builds on the configurator now, there's no option for a PEC delivery....

I ended up going with Gaudin Porsche in Vegas. I'm a first time buyer, and none of the Chicago area dealers were willing to budge on price. Of course, I put my order in the second week of March, and I'm not sure what the market is like now...

Appreciate the tip on Chicago Auto Pros! I'm in the city, and so both are about the same distance. Will definitely check out the Lombard location; their reviews look stellar!

wow, that's crazy that no one would budge! I think I ordered mine at the same time - hopefully you got a good deal from the Vegas dealer.

Well, less than 6 weeks out of production, mine is at the dealer! got some photos a little while ago, pre-PDI, and still wrapped:

Beautiful. Love it in white. I haven't been on here much the last few days been driving to nowhere as much as I can. I'm coming from a 2017 Macan S and this is a huge jump in "fun to drive". Most fun I've had driving since my Dad's 2001 911 4S. I had the dealer install the Escort Max Ci 360 in the car and its probably already saved me two tickets.
