Everyone.

Please be sure to read the Terms of Service (TOS) while using the website. VerticalScope - Driven by Enthusiasts Its on the bottom of every page. Some things not in the rules are clearly covered under the TOS. They are not in the specific rules probably because you had to agree to them upon signing up and are fairly obvious and standard things. I'll highlight three things you cannot do:

". . Use the Web Site to post or transmit any information, software or other material that violates or infringes upon the rights of others, including material that is an invasion of privacy or publicity rights or that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right, or derivative works with respect thereto, without first obtaining permission from the owner or rights holder."

...

Use common sense. But specifically, do not violate copyright laws. Respect the Intellectual Property of others. If you don't own the copyright to an article or obtained permission of the author, then to be safe, don't post the entire article. Understand fair use.

Thank you
This is simple to understand. If you do not own the copyright, do NOT copy entire articles. The IP does not belong to you. Quote parts and links to the original copy.

thanks

From https://www.macanforum.com/forum/porsche-macan-lounge/169179-global-warming-3.html#post2507113 Given that the 2020 US election cycle seems to have started very early this year, a clarification of the policy on politics. Its not new, its the exact same thing said above in this thread. From above in this thread:

"While you free to discuss any subject in the Macan Lounge, you are not free to make comments on current politics" The phrase “current politics” should be clear. Consider forbidden any current individual running for office or in office.

“... Emissions. OK to discuss: the science behind it, empirical data, facts about the technologies, existing or potential future laws (e.g., CAFE standards and fines, EU emissions regulations), etc. These are facts. They exist whether they be a standard, science, or a law. NOT OK to discuss. Political parties supporting a position or remarks you know will cause an issue with those who disagree with you (i.e., trolling). Specific example. Its fine to talk about FACTs - CAFE fines were introduced in the Energy Policy and Conservation Act enacted Dec 22, 1975. Links documented historical fact support your position. Its NOT fine to make commentary directed to the politics of the law. Example "Those (adjective adjective) ... ruined our cars". I picked this one as an example as one party controlled the Congress and the other the White House). You know this will inflame somebody.” This reiterates the clarification what was written two years ago.

Do not attack any current Politician in office or running for office, or their political parties, directly or indirectly. Period. That should be pretty simple. The science of Climate Change is objective in nature. Solutions to mitigate a warming environment are technical in nature. Unlike Religious or life philosophies, its quantifiable. One measures, records, models, and reports results. More so, it directly effects the cars we drive and this is an auto forum. If auto enthusiasts cannot discuss the regulations, or potential regulations, that effect their vehicles, than there’s pretty much nothing to discuss about the future. We could close down the shop because there will be nothing to discuss on future releases.

It's OK to discuss the facts. If you think some temperature measurements are bogus, models are bogus, or you think the models are correct? Provide objective means to support it. Opinions are not objective. They are just --- opinions. I don’t like predictions that were wrong. They were objectively measured. Events never occurred. Those are facts, not opinions. Its when posts throw out adjectives that are trolling in nature

(e.g., the radical, far (insert your choice here) ,
the horrendous proposal or decision to (insert your choice here)).
the terrible policy
Those xxxxx xxxxxx
Politicians xyz (some opinion)

these are OPINIONS. They are not facts. You must know there will be others who think the opposite. This is not a place for political debate or virtual flaming. It is a place where rational discussion can occur on facts effecting vehicles. I know its in some people's nature not to be able to separate their feelings from facts. Humans are humans. But by the same token, censuring discussion because a few members can't follow the rules punishes everyone.

This subject of climate change is open. Stay OT. Don't add you're opinion. Facts are fine.
