This was posted on MF a while back & I thought it showed that the only proper repair of this was to remove the engine. Just changing the bolts was not really a fix, probably due to the gasket issue mentioned by ttmacan.

I believe it would be quite a bit easier to EZ out the broken bolts with the engine out of
the body and mounted on an engine stand. Recall, they'd have to be first drilled and keeping
a drill correctly aligned, while also not drilling too deep, would be very tricky to accomplish
with the engine in situ.

The back of the bolts is visible on the ones that broke on mine, was able to back them out through the back.

'17 Macan S 27,500 miles. TCC. 10 weeks remaining on factory warranty. Missed a bullet. Probably won't be so lucky with transfer case if/when that happens.
Follow-up: I took pictures, sent to my service advisor at dealer, and requested appointment to repair. SA called back today to tell me that I need to drop off car so that they can "clean" the engine and apply some sort of leak tracker powder. Then they want me to drive car for 1000 miles, which is about two months...or the end of the warranty period for me. Then I need to return to the dealer a second time and they will repair if necessary. Is this really how it is done??? I haven't read a single forum posting in which someone with a TCC leak has to go to the dealer twice to get this fixed. Am I being messed with?

Find a different dealer. The oil leak is either there or not. Easy to see and doesn’t take 1000 miles of driving to confirm.

There seems to be a sufficient number of complaints to list oil leaks. Just like for the Transfer Cases, if you have this problem, please add to the bottom of this thread.

Please keep this thread strictly just reporting on if you have an oil leak problem, and only if you have a confirmed problem. That's why the thread is stickied, to document actual data, not as a general complaint thread. Don't post your car is OK. Don't post you want to complain about the quality of the cars or other complaints. Don't clutter it up with other comments. Don't add other complaints. This list is only about leaking oil

unclear if RL posts are duplicates of others in this forum

Took 2017 Turbo in for tire swap and fuel pump tsb and told the timing chain cover needed to come out. Under warranty and five days. I hope. Ouch.

Macan S (2017) just reaching 30k km found both sides of the undertray wet with oil. Dealer confirmed leak from timing cover gasket/seal. Now awaiting the required spares to be shipped.

Only 5 days? This is Calendar Day 7 for me. Still no word from SA.
Mine was in the shop for a month for the TCC repair!

Yeah...

A series of miscues: sat idle for a few days, then the tech was on and off it repeatedly. Add
to that the fact that they wouldn't let just any tech work on it and, apparently, the go-to guy
was spread thin.

I finally got it back and it's been dry since - believe me, I keep checking!

How do you keep checking?

Do you remove the underbody panel?

Did Porsche clean up the old spilled oil from when TCC leaked?

Can you easily tell old (dried?) oil from new wet oil on that fiber cover?

1. Every few months I remove the undertray and have a "look see"

2. Yes.

3. I found the TCC leak and it hadn't progressed to the point where it made it to the undertray.

4. Not applicable. The undertray is dry.

ramps, creeper and Torx driver and trim removal kits for the two plugs...

wwahl - I think you've hit on a definition!

Porsche owners = crazy nuts

Another "la plus ca change..." moment - consider the 356 models - known to leak oil (pushrod tube seals?).
How things have changed...

Today marks calendar day #18. I herd from SA once letting me know that parts were on order. Don't get me started on that! Here's a question for you oil leakers....

Macan has 30K miles.... and I got to thinking how easy it would be to replace the drive belt with the engine out. New belt retail price is about $70 ($50 from Sunset). Drive belts are good for 100K+ miles (although some people only claim 60K miles).

Wondering if it is worth asking SA for price to install new belt with engine out? Even if I only had to pay for cost of new belt (which I doubt) is it worth $70 to replace belt with only 30K miles on it? It's reportedly a $1200+ job with the engine in. Thoughts?

A new water pump is another consideration.

Go for it if you plan to keep the car that long. Good use of the engine already being pulled...
