I am curious how much everyone pays for an oil change from a dealer and/or independent shops that specialize in Porsche. I have paid between $290-$320 each time for two separate oil changes at an independent shop that specializes in Porsche (Midwest USA). I am recently out of warranty and will likely never take my Macan to the Dealer for any kind of service. What are others paying across the country at either the Dealer or specialized Indy shops that reset service intervals?
In northwest VA, dealer wants $450. Indy shops are about $220.
I do my own. Get the oil thru Costco and filter thru Rockauto. Have a scan tool to reset the oil light.

I just got a quote of $475 from Irvine (CA) Porsche. Seems ridiculously high. Anybody have a good Indy in Orange County?

Last time I checked Costco here in New Jersey did not have the correct oil. Which oil do they have by you?

I usually pick up a couple of the Mobile 1 5QTs for around $20-22 each shipped free from Walmart online.

I get the filter, plug, gasket and plug gasket from FCP euro for $30 - only had to pay once and get it replaced free for life after. They usually refund me within 5-7 days of mailing the old stuff back.

So Ive been paying about $44 for subsequent oil changes.

It all depends on the cost difference and what is your time worth. At times during the service the independent shop may find something else. I would stick to just the oil service. If the difference in price is less than $100. You get a loaner and they detail your car. I would go the dealership and at times they can work either the cost

I bought a 2020 Macan GTS October 1 and just finished my engine break in period. I called 2 local independent porsche mechanics and they wanted $165 and $175 for oil change and filter replacement. For the **** of it I called my dealership where I bought the car, they wanted $510 for the same service. lol, no thanks.

Wow, that is outrageous! I need to find a cheaper Indy. While I trust mine, I am still paying around $290 for an oil change. Sounds like many have found a local Indy to do it for less than $200 which is a good deal.

Right, but I thought Porsche calls for 0w40 or 5w40. Never seen that at Costco, at least here in New Jersey.
The 2020s call for 0W-20 ESP oil (at least the base), it's pricey but still much cheaper than the options you listed. I did my own just a couple weeks ago and it was way easier than my last car (Toyota 4-runner). If your handy at all, you might give it a try. If you go to the Suncoast site, you can specify your model and it will tell you the oil weight required.

I live in Newtown Square... and got the name from a post here
The Porsche Specialists in Broomall

Try pccarshops.com w/ your zip code
Thank you so much for mentioning this site!!! I'm due for my first oil change and since I no longer have a garage / jack etc I needed to find a place to get it done. Apparently there's a highly rated Porsche specific indy shop 10 minutes from me which is incredible considering where I live. Will report back with hopefully a report of a positive experience and the cost.

Canadian dollars, excluding tax (assume 25% less in USD): West end Porsche dealer quoted $355, North Toronto dealer quoted $325. Price includes an inspection. My local independent charges $225 including checking for engine codes and inspection.

Independent charges $125/hr for labour, the Porsche dealer was $198/hr
8l of oil $136.00
oil filter $31.65
Env. fees $ 9.45

^--All Porsche parts. Apparently there is a service available that cross references OEM parts to dealer parts that he subscribes to. Example: buy from Porsche or spend less and get a VW/Audi part or even less and get a Bosch part. I'm not CPO, so I'm willing to look at OEM parts.

Looks like us Canadians pay a bit more for parts and a bit less for labour.
