C-Tek 4.3. Think they might have a new one 5.0. If you get the 4.3 when you first start it scroll the mode button so the light goes to the snow flake. That will kick it up to 4.7. I did modify the power plug in the rear compartment to be live all the time. Just ran a wire (positive ) from the outlet directly to the battery. Easy to do. That way the outlet is always connected and you can leave the charger hooked up as long as you want. Once its fully charged it goes into maintain mode. These batteries are GSM and charge slow. New technology . If I am not going to drive mine for a few days I just hook it up . Easy to do.

First time Porsche owner and expensive lesson learned about batteries.

Bought my C Tek on E Bay as well as the cord extension and cig plug end. New . Think I paid $100 for all.

Be careful who you buy a Ctek from. They will not honor their warranty if not bought from an authorized dealer, and Amazon nor eBay are authorized dealers.

Question. If I get a C Tek charger, I want to plug it into the cigarette lighter. However, the Macan shuts down the cigarette lighter after 30 mins - so how can I use it there???

I went ahead and ordered the Porsche trickle charger since it had great reviews.

In my 2017 Targa I think I locked the doors. Or was it left unlocked? Then it would charge. Try either way

I connect my CTEK to the under hood terminals with the alligator clips then drop the hood all but the final latch. Not the most convenient solution but always reliable.

I use the CTEK Cig lighter adapter to charge my MY216.
Works fine, does not shut off.

Did the dealer say that they updated the computer re new battery?

There is some controversy re whenever this is needed or if it is b.s. to scare people from just replacing their battery themselves. Especially with a more powerful battery & certainly for a lot less money. $671 is way overpriced & that is with 20% off.

So back to the issue, no one has answered. If you lock the doors (or keep it unlocked?) will the VTEK charge the battery thru the cig lighter port?

I plug my charger into cig lighter receptacle with key off, then turn on charger then turn key on and off. Charger stays active until unplugged. The ctek cig lighter charger has 3 colored lights to indicate status. Above directions lead to green light on charger plug.
