See if you can find a local independent shop, give them a call and pick their brain on issues and pricing for the most common items (oil leaks, PDK, transfer case, air suspension etc..). Those will be your worst case and likely not as bad as you think, and nowhere near dealer pricing.

I was looking at an older GTS but I ended up with a newer CPO base with plenty of warranty. I am extremely happy with it after a couple of add-ons.
