TP = Traffic Programing
See page 26 of the Macan PCM Manual (2016 version)

Various FM radio stations broadcast traffic messages, in addition to their radio programing.
Traffic messages are part of the FM radio "Radio Broadcast Data System" (RBDS) signals and are not available everywhere.

If you select the "Set TP", you can switch the function on (place a check in the box), or off (remove a check from the box).
When the traffic program is switched ON, you will hear the traffic messages,, regardless of the audio source playing at the time.

To select the volume desired for the traffic messages, press SOUND --> OPTIONS --> Select "Set TP" --> Chose the volume level you desire.

Is TP actually useful?

Or will it interrupt your music to tell you the temperature or some other stuff you already know?

I can see the usefulness of warning you of an accident you are approaching in time to alter your route but not if you are constantly interrupted with info that is irrelevant to you. (Accident on the other side of town, etc.)
