Porsche EV has always been on a different trajectory than Tesla from the start. Handling is Porsche's forte so obviously they don't need to benchmark the Tesla Model X Plaid here. Acceleration is a different beast. Not even the Taycan Turbo S can beat Model X Plaid in this regard so if you're expecting the Macan EV Turbo to blow the doors off it, I think you're in for a big disappointment.

Agreed, Porsche buyers have different expectations, I doubt many Tesla buyers care about the things that make a Porsche a Porsche.

Source? I don’t buy it. TaycanForum owners report very few battery problems. On the whole EV batteries are incredibly robust. I drove the piss out of my prior BMW i3 (6 years old) and it showed virtually no battery degradation.

I suspect you will have to get in line and wait for delivery in the second quarter of 2024. expect pricing to be north of 100 grand to start. It’s very difficult to find a Macan GTS to test drive I bet finding a Macan ev to test drive will be very difficult unless you are a current Porsche customer.

The first Macan EV will be the expensive range topper and nowhere near the price of a T.
I had the same thoughts. However the availability of the T (even over an S or GTS) means I'm now actually driving one and have no regrets.
Get the T and put your order in for the reasonably priced EV. You'll be enjoying your T for a good couple of years.
I'm thinking of doing just that.

i can’t believe how many fools degrade Porsche because they think it’s all about speed speed and mor horsepower. So I guess in your mind a Porsche 356 is a piece of junk since it goes 0-60 in about 10 seconds. How about all the other Porsche 4 cylinder models. Stop degrading others choices. Porsche has never been All about speed. If that were the case then your Macan S is crap because it is slow compare with all sorts of vehicles out there.

The Macan T is blazing fast in historical terms. 5.8 seconds 0-60 according to Porsche. Motor trend says it will go 0-60 in 5 flat. I have seen 5.6 as well. It’s about Porsche uniqueness and build quality and the bespoke nature of your Macan. Many people don’t need to race from a stop light to a stop light to be happy. If you have a S or GTS good for you but don’t degrade others choices. The Macan T is just as much a Porsche as your S or GTS. In fact most bloggers say it handles better around town and In the twisties because it is 130 pounds lighter in the front.
Enjoy your S and GTS. But dont show your lack of Porsche history by saying a 4 cylinder that goes 0-60 in the 5+ second range doesn’t belong in the Porsche lineup. You are so dead wrong.

The Ford Expedition goes 0-60 in 5.95 seconds. So the Porsche Macan T is faster at 5-5.8 seconds depending on the source. The Macan T will also out handle the ford by a mile and is better looking and more exclusive. So basically you are saying the only reason you bought your Macan is because it’s fast. Lol.

Dave the source was a Tesla online mag repeated by other articles referencing ... the Tesla online mag. I see no verified sources. Its been a year and ... nothing has appeared as verification.
