Insurance: CSL vs. Split Limit for Liability Coverage

Split Limit, Umbrella Policy too...


I carry the maximum limits available to me through USAA. I carry the max because my insurance is not only to protect me, but also anyone who may potentially suffer a loss if I make a mistake.

CSL auto with umbrella @ 5x. Umbrella will also cover liability losses not related to the underlying auto policy.

I will price both CSL & Umbrella policy to see what seems best.

I was curious to see if many MF members opted for CSL or even know what that was. I was never offered that by any insurance agent, found out about it myself.

RE Umbrella, I'm guessing one must have both auto & home by same company to be able to purchase that.
