Hello all!

I got my VIN for my GTS in "Track My Dream" yesterday in process 3 of 11, so I figure I've earned my right to join the Macan Forums now (and of course PCA!). I have to say that I've never been so excited in anticipation for anything since the birth of my twin girls, and Porsche has made the experience special thus far. To date, I've got custom videos and cool Porsche Artwork, and the Track My Dream app makes me feel like a 10-year-old waiting for Christmas day!

I have a 2020 Tesla Model 3 Performance that I'll be trading in once my GTS arrives. I've learned one thing after 3 years in a Tesla - it was time to move past the Tesla smoke and mirrors and come back to real German precision. I am done with electric cars (not interested in the Macan EV for now). The Tesla is sterile, it's fake luxury (vegan leather - seriously?), and it's fake performance. I missed the passion of angry, grunting, popping exhaust, and the precision of true Grand Turismo and AutoBahn tuned pedigrees, but needed it in an SUV format, and the Model Y wasn't cutting it. There is nothing as sexy as the Macan from BMW or Mercedes and I even thought about the Alfa Romeo Stelvio for a moment but there is something special about the Macan. German precision, German raw power. Yeah...I'm in. And real numbers show that the Macan GTS with Chrono is as fast as my Tesla, which is insane!

I think back to my first car - a Porsche 944 Turbo, and I see this as coming full circle. I'm home. I would have loved a 911 Targa but my daughters killed that idea when they asked, where are we going to sit? So with the Macan GTS, my wife and daughters can enjoy sedate nice easy driving on Northern Georgia mountain roads with me (in comfort mode, they get car sick). But when I'm alone I look forward to track days and Sport+ mode on Blue Ridge Mountain alpine mountain passes!

Her birth Date is scheduled for 5/10. We're gonna have a baby! A 4400 pound 169 MPH (summer tires), 440 Horsepower baby!

Nice back story! We're on our third and fourth Macan's, ('21 and '22 GTS'), and every once in awhile on twisty River Road, I jump on it to remind myself just how great this puppy is! Enjoy!

Welcome & good luck with your Macan. I have twin boys so understand the issue about the 911 seating. Mine are older now (19) but I'm waitng to get them through college before I order that 911 Targa.

Congrats on your upcoming GTS! May I ask exactly at what stage you received the "custom videos" and artwork? I'm about to enter stage 3 for my GTS and probably watching the whole process too closely for my own good! 😂
Thanks!

It is good to share your story, my dream GTS order will be locked in this week and shortly will be in production, I am testing my SA tolerance by messaging him everyday where is my VIN? LOL. I have two daughters too, 7 and 4, my 7 yrs one actually more liked 911 Cab, but in my family, my wife killed the idea LOL. Maybe I will enjoy Macan this time with my family then will move to 911 Cab when both both my daughters would safely enjoying in the back seats.

Congratulations again! And where is dang my VIN is!!

That's a nice spec. I didn't know that they were doing TYD for the Macans.
Yep, I found out by accident since I assumed TYD was for 911s. I threw my commission number in there on a lark and it showed up. Now I stare at it first thing every morning and last thing at night. The production start date is 3/30 and the dates have been spot on thus far.

I did about three months of research and there was no doubt about the GTS purchase so I built my spec, went to the dealer, gave them my spec and down payment, and turned to leave after about 10 minutes.

My Porsche rep, Robert, looked at me strangely and asked why the hurry. He said there was a GTS on the lot, it's a beautiful day and we should go for a ride. My reply was no thank you. When I hear the 440 hp engine come to life through the black sport exhaust for the first time it will be with my GTS. And when I first experience the supreme PPK shifts and carve my first line on a winding road, it will be with my GTS. So, I'm kinda saving myself for her. He chuckled and said - I understand. The other rep sitting in the adjacent cubicle also nodded in approval.

Your first time is ALWAYS worth the wait! 😍

You are in for a real treat. I too, surprised everyone who knew I was getting my first Porsche that I didn’t test drive one before ordering. I don’t think I’ll Ever forget the ride home following delivery. That first sweeping turn - good golly - and mine is only an S! 😉
You may, or may not, be capable of keeping the 2.9 twin turbo belle 4,000 RPM?
This is a really nice place to spend some time while you wait. Congratulations

So this is crazy. We had a meeting yesterday with our global team and one of the VPs mentions that he is giving his presentation at the PEC in Leipzig! It turns out that Porsche is one of our customers and he's a Macan Turbo owner, and was taking it out on the track after the meeting. I gave him my commission number and he was able to verify that manufacturing will start promptly on 3/30 for my GTS. Unfortunately, there's nothing to see now because Porsche uses "just in time" manufacturing so the materials for my build haven't arrived on site yet. But, if he's in town next week he'll go back to Leipzig and see if he can get permission to take pictures of it on the assembly line!🤯

Stay tuned.
