Pretty straight forward diy. Drain/filler plugs are #3 and #5 in the diagram. 44ftlb for the plugs. Add oil 50ml at a time every 15s.

Transmission diagram sourced from “Porsche Workshop Manual”.

Checking back in on this. Thanks for the additional info on front gear oil being shared with the PDK (but separate from the clutches). Much appreciated.

If you don't mind, can I ask for the following confirmation. The front diff. fluid services both the front diff. AND the transmission. The PDK fluid services ONLY the clutches. Is that correct?
Just a little bump on this....
Yes the clutch oil is separate and the front diff and trans gears share the gear oil.
Has anyone use Royal Purple for the gear fluid instead of Oem or Liqui Moly?

For clarity here are the full instructions sourced from “Porsche Workshop Manual”.

Hi TTMacan, I'm a little confused. Directions said 3 and 5, yet your pics looks like you removed #2 plug? I thought 3 and 5 were for the PDK fluid?
Any idea on the part numbers for the plugs?

Edit: found the part number WHT003487

3 and 5 are for the gear fluid.

1 and 4 are for the PDK clutch fluid. The diagram is at an angle. From the side it 4 is almost at the same level back as 1 if that makes sense.

No, but I did replace with spec equivalent Red Line MTL for the front final drive and Red Line Gear oil for the rear diff.
Are the drain/fill plugs and the torque spec different between Turbo and S Macans? Santirx' DIY has different plugs (and torque spec). Not trying to be a pain, just want to clarify. WHT003487 vs WHT005282

Stupid question, but is this fluid change the same as changing the transfer case fluid (just with a different name - final drive oil change?) or are they completely different things?
Thanks for not roasting me on this ;)

No.
A Macan has 5 different powertrain fluids in it:
  • Engine Oil (and filter)
  • PDK Transmission clutch fluid (and two filters)
  • PDK gear-box and front differential fluid
  • Transfer Case fluid
  • Rear differential fluid

Also, how does one know if you have a Macan with the rear differential lock versus no lock?
Couple ways. One involves getting on the ground and looking at the axle. The locking one has an electric motor and wiring harness near the right half shaft. The clean way is look up your options list. 1Y0 = no lock
1Y1 = lock

Hi, just like the fluid on the rear differential (Non PTV Models) does Porsche 000 043 305 04 fluid work for a front differential fluid change?

Does the front differential need the same two drain plugs?
Does it need the same amount of fluid? 2L?
