Hello fellow Canucks:

I recall reading somewhere on the forum under Infotainment, that Porsche/Google are not offering all of the advertised features to Connect+ and Navigation features in Canada?

Does anyone have Nav, Connect Plus in the the PCM4 form (I guess MY17)?

If so, do you have all the different services working as advertised?
Traffic, Google StreeetView, Google POI search, etc?

Did your dealer provide a SIM card?

My Macan S is finally on its way from Halifax to Langley in the next week, so I am trying to figure a couple of these items out ahead of time. On Telus, and hoping just to add a SIM card with shared data to my account if the Nav/Comm services are worth it.

Thanks for any info, and Go Canada Rio 2016!!http://www.macanforum.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif

I talked to the product specialist at my dealer, he doesn't know when we will get the traffic info on the Nav either, but he didn't mention next year. I called Porsche Canada, they know nothing because the call center staff is from the US call center, they couldn't find anything about it. The product specialist told me to check back with him in a month or so, maybe he will get an update.
But he said, in the meantime, I can use carplay and use google traffics from the iPhone to show up on the PCM, yes it works, I did try once But I rather just tap on the PCM on the NAV screen, save me time since it has the traffic button there and it worked in the US and in Europe, why not in Canada(I know it's google deal with Porsche Canada somehow). That's the best I know about traffic info.

Oh I have both Nav and Connect + options on my car.

I ordered my GTS loaded with the Nav and Connect + too, and the only solid answer I got was from the thread I previous mentioned... There's a copy of an email from Porsche that says mid-2017 for Google Services.

I have no idea why Porsche has so much difficulty communicating with the dealerships.

I guess we'll know once we get the car.. :/

no...you won't know about the traffic info on Nav if you get the car today or tomorrow. No one seems to know when...you can still use Nav and carplay for other functions in the meantime.

Thanks for the great info guys! While my SA has some service awards to his name, I have found him to be quite vague when I ask him about this topic, and during my delays due to the PCM sourcing difficulties I have also had to reference the forum to get any real info.

As for online services, looks like our small population in Canada once again puts us down the line. Oh well, I will trade that for living in this Blessed country any day!

I always just assume whenever I hear of some new tech thing, that it's not available in Canada.
Then, if/when it is available, yay!
Along with options that should be standard equipment and a low currency value, it barely makes the winters worth living through in our igloos! :D

At least Porsche prices are 14% lower here (when converted to US dollars). With savings like that you can afford to winter down south!

That's due to all the removed content. :D In the US, discounts seem to be more achievable than in Canada. The +14% may explain why.

You are correct that the prices are better here now with the poor CDN $ exchange. Let's hope Porsche doesn't do a big correction to match us up.

Don't get me going on after tax income comparisons! =:O

Well, it's the first day of Q3 and still no connect options. I know there was some talk about Porsche giving us Canadian's the connect+ features starting today but it's still not on the Porsche Connect site Has anyone heard anything new? My service advisor and sales at Pfaff have no idea.

I just heard from the dealer...they said it will probably be another month(or two), but they are rolling out the new traffic info to the cars that have connect plus. But you have to call them to register, first 12 months is free after that it will cost 179$ per year to get this traffic info.
I have both navigation and connect plus in my car. I thought that the traffic info will be free forever....too bad

Waze.

Does it work in your area?

That may be an option within Carplay if Waze works for you.

I called Porsche Canada and they told me it will be active in the next 30 days.. Everyone that has purchased Connect+ on their car should received an email invite as soon as it's launched.

I had to register my car, send in a copy of my drivers license and ownership. Still waiting for them to add the car to my profile. No idea how long that will take.

I’ll keep this thread updated.
