For those who have any questions or need a testimonial, I can vouch for the product. We have been working with Cobb since November of last year on the development for the Macan T.

If anyone in SoCal would like a test drive to feel the difference, hit me up.

Having trouble loading this at work, how does the gains stack up vs. RaceChip piggyback?

IMO there is no comparison, having experienced both.
Is the Cobb tune detectable when "uninstalled"? In other words will it void the warranty?
Ordered :) Dragstrip results once I get it.

The AccessPort downloads a copy of the "stock" ECU programming so , in theory , you can reflash the ECU back to an identical copy of the factory ECU programming before going in for a service - in theory that should pass a "checksum" test.
Forensic examination of the ECU might reveal the flashing, but that would only happen if you had a big warranty claim.
Of course, you would be flagged if they detected it...

Everything is eventually detectable, if you want to preserve your warranty, you may not want to modify anything on your car. The bottom line is that even a piggyback can be detected with modern ECUs

The folks at Cobb used my 15' Macan to test their new ECU tuning for the Macan. The gains look pretty impressive. I am getting the Accessport tomorrow from them and will try it out. They seem to be looking at all new Porsche turbos (718, 901.2) anything else they can do to make these faster. Not that I'm looking to flog my car but if i can get some of the lag to decrease, i'd be happy.

This is what they are advertising:
MACAN TURBO POWER GAINS

Stage 1 91 Peak Gains : +13.33% HP, +26.18% TQ
Stage 1 91 Max Gains : +35.24% HP, +34.31% TQ

Stage 1 93 Peak Gains : +17.50% HP, +32.78% TQ
Stage 1 93 Max Gains : +42.18% HP, +42.67% TQ

Stage 1 100 Peak Gains : +20.83% HP, +36.79% TQ
Stage 1 100 Max Gains : +43.89% HP, +44.27% TQ

MACAN GTS POWER GAINS

Stage 1 91 Peak Gains : +5.25% HP, +15.74% TQ
Stage 1 91 Max Gains : +34.72% HP, +34.81% TQ

Stage 1 93 Peak Gains : +9.26% HP, +19.04% TQ
Stage 1 93 Max Gains : +36.31% HP, +36.59% TQ

Stage 1 100 Peak Gains : +9.26% HP, +23.86% TQ
Stage 1 100 Max Gains : +41.77% HP, +42.07% TQ

MACAN S POWER GAINS

Stage 1 91 Peak Gains : +9.43% HP, +21.24% TQ
Stage 1 91 Max Gains : +37.30% HP, +37.29% TQ

Stage 1 93 Peak Gains : +12.48% HP, +22.38% TQ
Stage 1 93 Max Gains : +40.94% HP, +40.94% TQ

Stage 1 100 Peak Gains : +14.56% HP, +26.28% TQ
Stage 1 100 Max Gains : +41.73% HP, +41.72% TQ

Please, no pearl-clutching TLDR comments about ECU mods and warranty etc. I get it, it didn't come from the factory, there may be risks, YMMV, etc. No they didn't pay me to pimp their product. I'm nobody, they have a massive marketing machine. I just think this stuff is neat and tweaking turbos is fun.

What makes this better than the racechip that costs half the price? Is installation and removal just as easy?

This is an ECU flash/tune... It's not a piggie that tricks your sensors into bogus readings to produce more boost and such. Honestly, there is NO comparison between a piggie and a proper tune. I'll be honest though I don't have experience with Cobb but have heard from others they are top notch, I've read good things, and I like that you can data log, show performance data and clear codes as well. FWIW APR whom I use for all my Audi tunes recomended Cobb since they won't be tuning the Macan Turbo in the near future.
I would love to get your impression after the installed... Likes and dislikes

I have run both piggyback and currently have Cobb installed. There is no comparison. The piggy made power at wide open throttle, but the drivability really suffered. The Cobb makes great torque and smooth power.

We also worked with Cobb during their development process, the guys there are top notch (Mitch, Jon, Joe & Jared). My wife and I were blown away by their professionalism and communication, they far exceeded our expectations.

Do you have a specific case where a piggyback has been detected and used as a warranty denier? I would bet that someone just left a piggyback installed at a service and was then flagged, but I am having a difficult time imagining how a piggy back could be detected after it was removed. Only so much data is stored on the ECU.
I had a cobb accessport on my subaru wrx. It worked great

I have intimate knowledge direct from Porsche. Like I mentioned, anything can be detected.

I cannot say whether or not this will be a basis to approve or deny a warranty claim.

I will not pass judgement on anyone, but I know I would never make a warranty claim knowing I modified my vehicle.
I understand that you can load up different maps, even a valet map to prevent a Bueller's Ferrari experience....
How long does it take to reprogram the ECU with a different map?

It looks to me that the big advantage here is the low end torque and hp gain. Will make the driving experience much smoother than the piggy back units.
Probably has a big negative effect on fuel economy? Does anyone know?
Can PDK shift points be set as well?

I'll do a full post/review once I receive it and install... I'll cover everything and be glad to answer questions. I'm hoping to drag race it this weekend but it's supposed to rain and it's very hot and humid here now. I'll go if it doesn't rain. I'll run pump gas since I filled up recently. I'll run race gas the time after as I want this pig in the 11's... lol
