Definitely not reusable, I didn’t realise you had to replace the whole unit until I looked up the part number you provided. I was thinking there was a generic led lamp that you replaced in it.

Yep that wouild have been the "green" or "carbon neutral" design we hear so much from manufacturers. Alas it's business as usual, a 15 cent LED needs to be replaced by a $135 complete assembly.

Yes but as my Touareg mates from Sydney and Melbourne remind me, you have free health care!

Why don't you just order from here and pay shipping?

I have done that before when the exchange rate was more favourable and then you add shipping costs plus they put a 10% GST levy on at the border so the savings soon start to erode.

I had a quick look on Suncoast and they list the LHS but the RHS which is what I need is a special order

Always mentioned the steering wheel was on the wrong side down Under :)

I feel you pain in shipping costs given where I live - I try and shun anyone enforcing a stupid FedEx or UPS only method when the PO is faster and cheaper. But sometimes you can't avoid it. You don't have Suncoast shops in Melbourne or wherever you live?

No Suncoast down here.
Porsche dealerships here are either company owned or an exclusive Porsche only dealership if they are privately owned. There is no selling of other brands in their dealerships. There would only be about 10 dealerships Australia wide.
The upside of this is that their service and professionalism is top shelf and definitely a notch above the other euro brands on offer here so happy to pay the premium “ Porsche experience tax”

Plus we get to drive on the other side of the road and get free healthcare :)

No I meant aren't there any speed shops like Suncoast who import or distribute VAR car parts? Shops that carry Holley carbs, Edelbrok manifolds etc. for Holdens etc?

The driving on the other side I can live without, the free healthcare as my mates keep reminding me OTOH...

Yes there is plenty of them but they don’t cater for Porsche parts as it is such a small market within what is a small market
There are privateer workshops that specialise in Porsche service and repairs but to my knowledge still source OEM product through the dealer network
