Looks great. How much did it cost if you don’t mind? May consider on my Taycan
Yeah it would bother me if the colors were similar but just a little bit off. This was the first time I’ve had calipers painted & I think they turned out pretty goodWhen I was looking at possibly getting my Macan S in red it bothered me that the brake calipers were not the same red as the car and I probably would have gone and painted it the same red if I had gone that route.
Thanks! It was about $500. The guy I went to did not take the actual caliper off, but instead taped off everything & covered the car so a lot of it was prep. I’d recommend doing it if you’re on the fence!Looks great. How much did it cost if you don’t mind? May consider on my Taycan
They do. Think they started in '22.I've always thought it a bit odd that Porsche didn't give Macan S red calipers like all their other models.
Looking good but just want to let you know that the "PORSCHE" sticker was not centered on the front calipers!I recently picked up a ‘17 S and knew immediately the silver calipers had to go. Red is classic, and red calipers look good on almost everything, but I wanted to do something different since I had the choice. I know yellow is the color of the calipers when you get carbon ceramics, and I’m not trying to imitate or “fake it” but I just thought the gray/yellow combo looked great & couldn’t pass it up. Had them painted a few weeks ago and very happy with the result!
On the other Porsche models, S and GTS have always gotten red calipers. Porsche used to be real stickers giving purists purity ammunition but it's a bit all over the place now especially since Porsche offered black calipers for $900 on steel, PSCB, or PCCB.So if colour signifies the type of brake why does the S get red calipers same as the GTS when the GTS has PSCB. Maybe the GTS PSCB brake cxalipers should be white like they were on the Turbo?
Thanks for the heads up, noticed that too, but only if it’s something you’re really looking for lol. Trying not to let it bother me but it’s just a sticker so I can replace it next time I have the wheels off.Looking good but just want to let you know that the "PORSCHE" sticker was not centered on the front calipers!
Fully agree. I would think 95%+ of people painting their Porsche calipers yellow do so because they like the pop of color and aesthetic and not because they are trying to fool the masses into thinking they have carbon brakes. Totally different than false badging.I think it looks good and I don’t think you’re misrepresenting anything. It’s just a color. It’s not like you’re putting GTS badges on a base trim or something.
Did you color match the yellow you got to Porsche’s yellow they do on their calipers from factory or just go with a generic yellow? It looks really good and I have the same color car so I’m thinking about doing this as well. I actually bought the G2 yellow paint kit to do it myself but a friend told me not to do that since it won’t look OEM 🤷🏽♂️I recently picked up a ‘17 S and knew immediately the silver calipers had to go. Thanks! The guy who I did it through actually just sent me a bunch of samples and I picked my favorite out of those. Porsche uses what looks like a canary yellow so I just wanted something similar, didn’t have to be exact. I would go for it if you’re on the fence! Adds a great pop of color to the gray.Did you color match the yellow you got to Porsche’s yellow they do on their calipers from factory or just go with a generic yellow? I did the same, went from red to acid green on my GTSI personally like colored calipers, don’t really care about the color matching the type of brakes bought. I’m about to get my calipers painted from black to Porsche acid green color. Think that should look pretty sick 😎
Are those powder coated or spray painted? They look goodI did the same, went from red to acid green on my GTS

OP - I think the yellow looks great, do what makes you happy. I do wish the shop took the calipers off to paint though…
They are sprayed, powder coating is really only necessary for constant high temp track use and even then it's probably overkill. My shop doesn't even powdercoat on dedicated track cars. Are those powder coated or spray painted? They look good
