I chase down the problem I’ll tell you what I find. Sounds like a relay. I just had to replace the inside trunk switch, the plastic holding the clips failed. Old switch was made in UK, new one came from Ukraine. Why can’t UK build good electronics?

Same on my Macan... it has been like this for the last 7 years! Specially, when using heat in the winter.

@JerryP is correct. Also, it can be turned off for A/C on the MFD.

Davin, If you grew up in the '50s and crossed paths with an English car that had Lucas wiring in it. Absolutely notoriously bad. You are lucky, as you must have missed this opportunity to walk miles home, leaving a dead car behind.
Having owned a 1978 Jaguar XJS for almost 30 years I am sadly familiar with the “Prince of darkness” Fortunately, I never had to walk home.
