3M Film vs Xpel

Hi all - so which of these would be better option for interior film protection (glass area near shifter) and exterior (door jams) etc?
I understand Xpel is more expensive but was wondering if people have had experience with both for some feedback, thanks!

Getting AP3 in ATL to do XPEL with ceramic infusion. Best overall package and warranties
I have XPEL. It’s been on the car for 5 years. Never had an issue with it.
Another question

What should I have filmed?

I do have opt coat pro coating on entire car but would be interested in adding some extra protection in vulnerable areas.

Thanks again

What do you do to maintain/wash the Xpel?

do you use a ceramic spray also?

If you have the entire car ceramic coated, you don’t want PPF on top of that.
So on mine my full car is wrapped in latest.
3m pro gloss 200.
Its great, hydrophobic and shiny.
And for the entrire film i also got ceramic coating as well. Carpro skin which is special ceramic for ppfs
I've had the 3M on my Viper since 2008. Still looks brand new. No hazing.

Also agree with Dave. I've read you don't want to put PPF over a ceramic coating.

Do you also have the back tailgate with Xpel? Any pros or cons with putting it there in terms of scuffs or marks with people going in and out of the trunk? Is it durable for the back I guess is what I am asking - thanks

So I just had my full front XPEL done - hood, mirrors, front spoiler, front quarters etc.
Interesting though as I thought it would be one whole piece but there are seams on the front corners - see images, also not sure if the cuts were as smooth as I had hoped around the curves. The installer said he couldn't avoid the front seams. Any feedback on this work?

In the 2nd and 3rd picture, the film doesn’t look like they got the edges all down. Make sure the edges are down firmly before dirt gets behind there.

The cuts are a little sloppy but nobody is probably going to notice unless they are 12” away. This is going to happen to some degree unless you have a precut kit installed. Precut kits also don’t have that seam.

Should i ask to redo the entire hood??
Is there any kind of warranty if dirt starts getting behind those edges or that seam? If yes, I probably roll with it for now.
Not sure. Guy has great reviews and seems honest.
He said as long as I use something like Xpel ceramic boost monthly it’s fine
What about applying some heat to the seam?
Would that hide it?
