I think the 2015 Macan Turbo which is worth about $50-55k now will probably be worth about $30k in 3 years. The Alfa which is $77k new will probably be worth about $45k in 3 years. So from a financial standpoint, really only losing about $5k if I buy the alfa (Assuming that the Macan will be trouble free after the warranty expires next May). Decisions, Decisions!! Would be so much easier if Porsche made a Pajun!
I have been at the shop lately and saw the Alfa . My dealership sells it amongst several others . Today I saw my first Panamera Turbo on the street and not in a showroom . My , oh my, does that Panamera look fantastic.

I would be terrified to buy a 77K Alfa . Your numbers above seem like a good estimate . The car is fast !! Very fast for a sedan in its price range!!

It's faster than your Turbo. It's faster than an M3 or a C63S and its priced just where it needs to be that I keep saying Porsche has to jump into this arena.

One thing I will give credit to Alfa on is how they priced this car and produced attractive numbers . There's the Giulia at 77K which has this monster performance and then theres the base 2.0 4 cylinder car in the low 40's . That IMO is a brilliant move !!

Yep, that'll do it every time. I wonder how many lost sales that will lead to. I test drove the 4C but found it unbearable on our roads here in Oz. It would be awesome somewhere like Germany so I thought the Giulia would be much better but after that video I'd be too scared to pony up.

Watching the video really is an eye opener to how much this segment needs a makeover . The M3 was once king and now its so dated . The C63 is a pretty car but the C class ranks in the top regrettable purchases https://www.forbes.com/sites/jimgorz.../#3c5c80ed21a5

And the Alfa -- well it does exactly what its does best .. it looks great and breaks down at 10:45.
The Audi cant even compete at this small class .

So the only way to go is up and with that comes the new Panamera . I cant see a Turbo unless one is really to spend 911 Turbo money to take passengers . In Panamera territory I'd opt with comfort over performance and try to stick to a near 100K price point .

@mbr -- I keep saying keeop your money and park the 3 year old Macan outside.

Read a great review of the Alfa, but it ended with..."remember it's Italian"

What about the Audi S6/S7 or S5/RS5 if you want to go smaller?

The Audi S7 is a gorgeous car with the hatch back for added practicality. But quite a bit bigger car in this company. But I do like it.

The S6 is very nice but frankly I like the Macan Turbo more that he already has. The 6 and 7 are larger vehicles. I think he already drove an A5 sedan and again it just isnt the Macan level . I like Audi but i never loved Audi . Yeras ago BMW was so far ahead of it but in recent times Audi has caught up . In short they both have room to improve .

The Porsches are about as perfect as one can get . Understated, classy, elegant, reliable , and priced in premium range but not in exotic territory for most . Then again . I am biased . I have 3 of them so its not like I didnt consider the others .
