Interesting, I have had no issues but, I doubt my headlight washers have ever deployed.
I also have PPF film covering the headlights. I use this product for washer fluid:

@iconoclast , that further supports the theory of headlight fluid damaging the lights given that you covered them with PPF film. Although, you may not have deployed them, the service department should have as part of the service checklists assuming they are actually doing the checks and not just putting the checkmarks.

Porsche Service Dept. never checked their function. I never allow them to wash the car. No residue on the lights or car, as there would be if they were sprayed.

I once tried to activate the washers just b4 I washed the car & was unable to do so.

I'm sure I'm in the minority but I've had my S for a little over 4.5 years and have never used the washers since the day I tested them when the car was a week old.

Yes, you are in the minority....you tested them. The majority of owners have never used them at all

If you see an ad just below my posted text above, it's inserted by the forum owner, not me.

+1 for never using the washers. Not a big deal that the washers will be omitted from the '19 models. Not having fog lights as standard is bean counters at work.

+1 for no big deal the washers are not there for 2019 as they make it more difficult to swap the headlights and they potentially damage the lenses by the washing fluid as I noted. The question to those who never used them @TripleL and @Jshore , do you have the same hairline cracks as we do since we only used them a few times.

Iíve used them once on purpose, when the headlights were dirty. Itís possible theyíve activated automatically as well. Donít seem to have any cracks yet.

Iíve never used the fogs. We donít get much fog here though youíd never know it by the number of cars I see with them on. How many of you use them whether or not thereís fog? Maybe I should start a poll.

According to the owner's manual, the headlight washers are run automatically when the wipers

The manual states that the washers operate automatically every 10 wipes of the windscreen when headlights are dipped.
