Default Dash cam and battery pack installed

Just wanted to post some pics of my dash cam and battery pack installation. Purchased from Blackboxmycar.com came from Canada took about a week and a half. Got the Blackvue DR650GH-2CH and the Cellink B 2nd gen battery pack. Had a hard time deciding on where to place pack it's a bit on the large size. Was either in back where the fuse panels are or in front. (see pics) Camera is very easy to setup and install. Just took my time and tried not to rip anything up.

I had purchased a Escort Passport Max but realized that they don't use radar here only laser. (returned to Amazon.com) Also purchased Blend Mount to go along with the Passport Max but decided to keep because I wanted something to mount my dash cam to. Not really a fan of mounting stuff via 2-way tape to glass so I made a plate for both front and rear cams. Mounts came out pretty good, used titanium sheet for front and aluminum for rear.

I have a dash cam but don't understand what a battery pack is for?

Also, you are very good at making things. I like the shelf. Might I suggest it would be nicer if you painted it black, less conspicuous for sure.

I also used a magic marker to blacken the white lettering on mine.

Where do you live that they don't use radar?

Nice post and well done! Would be interested in seeing a picture of the rear mount. What route did you use for the wiring front to rear?

For this particular brand of cam it's powered via car battery. With the battery pack it powers cam first then switches to car battery. In normal conditions pack should last for approx 72 hours then goes to car battery where once it gets to a certain voltage cam will auto shutdown.

In Hawaii. Only laser used.

Thanks for the props @MDJAK , gonna try to match the same color as the Blendmount, was getting late so I decided to just do the whole install.

As far as the lettering, I saw on other fourms that other members have used markers and black tape to cover, will deff do it as well the lettering does kinda bug me.

The wiring from front cam to rear is supplied with kit, very good quality too. Was at first kinda trippin on price but after reading the reviews and tube vids was sold on it real fast. Also running wire was super easy.

Oh my, say it ain't so. You put a screw through the headliner? Yikes.

Tell me, por favor, why do you want/need/desire a rear camera? I said I have a dash cam and I obviously see the need for it or I wouldn't have one. But I don't get having one in the rear. What am I missing? Thank you.
