Default Has the rear fascia light bar worn out its welcome yet ?

Everywhere I go I see this auto design fashion trend and frankly its getting old already . It's on my neighbor's Mercury (or is it a Lincoln ?) . I saw it on an Audi. I am seeing it on other cars which I dont even know the name .

This is going to fade in popularity as quickly as Z cavaricci pants did in the 80's or a mullet in the late 70's or Ed Hardy sneakers (in more recent times). The problem is that a person can buy a clothing item wear it a little and then chuck it . A 60-80K car design feature is not exactly chuckable.

But that novelty will erode . It already has eroded with me.

We have seen similar design features before (Dodge Charger, Mercury Cougar, etc.) but they were not LED’s of course. Remarkable how quickly so many designers have picked up on it, but I cannot say I have strong objections to the ones i’ve seen in person.

Awful design. And yes, it will go the way of the Mullet. As stated, there is nothing you can do about it. I'm sure Sunset Porsche Parts is woking on a kit to black it out . HA

This from a guy who has been through more Macans in the past 4 years than I have been through pairs of shoes.

Ahh ... the magic of planned obsolescence. The public's desired fashion statement. Fashion is such a strange thing. Personally, I'm thinking fins would be good, the bigger the better, or maybe another race to the biggest spoiler, like a Superbird's, put the wing on a GT3 to shame.

I want more decal/stickers, especially the Macan logo across the windshield

The first time I saw the rear light bar was on the Dodge Durango and I was absolutely appalled. This new trend of horizontal light bars makes most cars look horrible from the rear end; as if the rear portion is wearing a pair of glasses...

I'm not as opposed to the light bar as I am to the chrome PORSCHE and Macan (etc.) letters on these vehicles. I hate chrome/silver lettering on cars... Macan is the only 4-door Porsche for 2019 that doesn't allow the letters to be blacked out...

Now the Macan will look more generic from the rear (ya das ees goot!) Porsche visual design is 90% brilliant,10% offensive. It can be so good and then screw it up with a gimmick.

2015 Macan Turbo.
